1. Touch Bionics is being smart about the manufacture of the i-Limb, thus they don’t have to charge a huge sum
2. They’re not taking advantage of the opportunity to gouge desperate people
While yes, one can argue that the product is in its early stages, and might develop problems down the road, it definitely seems worth the money.
Now they just need to solve the phantom limb disorder; that alone would be worth 15k to amputees.
