I just added the Gil Scott-Heron, but could someone help me go through the other 117 messages in this thread and add the songs? :D
Awesome!....ooh, I have to take a short nap right now because I have been up for like 20 hours, but I will definitely help do that.

Hey Catie - I'm so glad you are joining in the musical discussion, as well as the book discussion.

Could some type out the songs on the playlist because I don't got no Spotify, some of us still use them newfangled gramophones thank you very much.
I'm happy Catie is joining. I love this crew I've met here on the bookface!MJ, if you are on FB, Spotify is free and pretty easy to use. But otherwise, people have been linking to the youtube videos if you wanted to listen that way. It would be nice if iTunes had sharing capabilities...
MJ wrote: "Moira wrote: "AHEM why ick, exactly?"I just find him....sort of repulsive! I mean granted he wants to be repulsive, I think, but he sort of repels above and beyond the call of duty. I don't do well with the 'let me gross you OOOUUUUUT' school of writing.
Spotify is free, yeah - but then you have to listen to ads in between the music, which sucks, and is why I quit listening to radio.
Jason wrote: "It would be nice if iTunes had sharing capabilities... "YEAH. Isn't Google supposed to be doing that with their Cloud thing? Then again, the Google music interface whatever it's called is so unwieldy and hard to edit I've used it maybe twice.
I just finished my first reading of TM&M, and I have some ideas for the playlist. I'll try to work on it over the weekend.

Sorry to hear that, Aloha. There are multiple versions of the song on Youtube - I just picked that one because I liked the video portion. Hopefully one of the others will work for you.

Awesome, Stephen!
I am thinking we should add some songs to the playlist that reference the moon and moonlight. I won't explain why to avoid spoilers, but I think this could be enough to give some new inspiration for music for the playlist.
Some songs I will add to get us started on this theme:
Neko Case - I Wish I Was the Moon

Eels - Climbing to the Moon (Jon Brion Remix)

OK, I added all the songs I could to the Spotify list - some artists weren't on there, though. :(
I also added Woodpigeon, If Only I Were a Painter, I'd Paint for You the Moon.

I thought Jeff Buckley's album "Grace" had a few songs relevant for a number of reasons, and, like Kris, extrapolation may be cause for a spoiler so...Grace
So Real
Eternal Life
And from a different album, "Opened Once"

Perfect choices, Carol. Brilliant artist, and wonderful ties to TM&M. I'm adding them to the playlist.
