I shalt be in love with my own sins.
I shalt not let anyone take me alive.
I shalt find a way when all hope is gone.
I shalt not care what you think as long as it's about me.
I shalt not be afraid to keep on living.

message 11: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments And this is relevant to makeup how?

message 12: by Emma (new)

Emma | 387 comments Lol. I'm not a big make up person yet, but there are some freaky freshman girls who wear mascara, eyeliner AND eyeshadow on a regular basis. And they wear it heavily.
I think when I start wearing it I'd mostly go for mascara and lip gloss because I have pretty long eye-lashes and I get chapped lips LOL.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

IDK...
I've been in love with lipgloss since I waS 8.

message 14: by Emma (new)

Emma | 387 comments I think most kids like lip gloss first because it's the easiest one and the lightest one.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

yes. And he only one ht 'm allowed to wear until August 10, 2009-my 13th B-day

message 16: by Sarah jean (new)

Sarah jean blank (Sarahjean) same with my friend but that equals easy present :) plus elf has it 4 cheap

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

here's what i think:

i think heavy make up is really kind of silly. for fancy occasions, masscara, eyeshadow, lip gloss/stick, and/or maybe blush and foundation is ok. for teenagers, as in, 13-16? i have friends who coat themselves in makeup (aged 13) everyday, which is silly. i think. i mean, they look lovely and all....... i think it is also ok to wear concealer/foundation in high school if you need it. but anyone under 13, maybe a bit of masscara or eyeshadow and lipgloss is all i think is ok.

message 18: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Landers (mnlanders) I don't think that there's a certain age to start wearing make-up. It all depends on the person and the parents. Personally, I started wearing make-up when I was about twelve, and have gotten to the point where I can't go anywhere without putting some on. And honestly, I kind of wish I never started, because I wouldn't depend on it so much now.

Really though, I don't think kids need to start wearing make-up at all. I was just in a rush to grow up/feel grown up. There's no need for it.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

i can see what you mean. every family is different.

Melissa wrote: "Really though, I don't think kids need to start wearing make-up at all. I was just in a rush to grow up/feel grown up. There's no need for it.
"

Exactly. But little girls always want to feel grown up. So they should wear lip gloss. Because it doesn't exactly count as make up.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah.

message 22: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments I wear concealer and foundation on special occasions, but usually i only wear mascara an lipgloss at most.

message 23: by Sella (last edited Feb 13, 2009 12:57PM) (new)

Sella Malin I think there isn't a 'set age' for when people should start wearing make up or not. The choice is entirely up to them and their parents- it's not for anyone else to decide or judge. Sure, maybe if I see a nine year old wearing EXTREMELY heavy make up- clots of foundation and blush and eyeshadow and eyeliner and mascera- I might feel sick, but it's still not my place to say what's the right age and what's the wrong age. If nine year old's want to grow up too fast, then so be it. It's their problem, not mine.

I'm 14, almost 15, and the only make up I wear is eyeliner, occasionally mascera, and lip gloss (because I have a lip licking problem, and lip gloss is the only thing that makes me not lick my lips). I don't bother with blush or foundation or eyeshadow or any of that. The reason I wear mascera and eyeliner isn't because I want to fit in, or want to feel "grown up", or anything like that- it's just because it's a fun thing to do, and it makes me feel confident. And it's not like I'm addicted or attached to it or need it or anything; I go all the time without make up, when I don't feel like putting it on or just don't want to.

And to anyone who judges me for the make up I wear: go mind your own business.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

i think thats a good point.

message 25: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 120 comments that is a good point most kids only want to wear make up to fit in some people use it to make them selves look better, it's all phycological.I mean if you think you look good you will be more confident

message 26: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin Thanks, exactly. :D

message 27: by Sarah jean (new)

Sarah jean blank (Sarahjean) see i bought bad covergirl makeup (it was sparkley :O, which i didnt know at purchase time) and gosh i could not apply it to save my life. so id take it off try again and it was still bad.. i also had nyc eyliner and light purple eyeshadow (mabyline) and id try again it was stil bad so id end up going to school my face al red from taking it off and stuff so i just quit.

message 28: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) Lol. Yeah, me too. I wear lip gloss for special occasions. That just tells you how messed up my makeup life is.
But I've never really felt the need to wear makeup, so I don't. I'm one of those girls who would go to the store with bedhead in her pajamas if my ma didn't make me do something presentable with myself. :D

message 29: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments Lol.

It depends on what day it is and who im hanging out with really.

If its a monday and Ava P called to hang out and FORCED me to go, i wouldn't shower and wear my boyish outfits and sulk the whole time.
If its a friday and Nina, Maya, Eliza, Emma, or Sophie called i would actually try to make myself look presentable because i actually like those friends.
Being presentable usually includes a bit of foundation mascara and lip gloss.
If its a saturday and theres a party add eyeliner to the mix.
If its a sunday and june calls to hang out i'll try and make myself presentable because gabe is really HOT. And gabes always there.

message 30: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin lol

message 31: by The New Maria (new)

The New Maria (emeraldmaria) | 1950 comments I don't think any age should be illegal, but I dunno, I don't think that like 5 year olds should wear it.

message 32: by Sarah jean (new)

Sarah jean blank (Sarahjean) not legal or anything.

i think its cute when 5 year olds put on a bunch of make up 4 dress up or something

message 33: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments in 5th grade my mom said i could wear whatever makeup i want

(i am now in 9th)

but i didn't go overboard or anything

i didn't want to look like a whore (and still don't)

message 34: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments or else they buy it at the store and put it on in the bathroom before school and it looks HORRIBLE

message 35: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Hmmmm...I didn't start wearing heavy make-up until last year, but wore a bit before then too. My parents never had a problem with it, unless it is REALLY dark. Even then I just go out anyway, haha, I have found black eyeshadow! I like dark make-up:)

message 36: by Sheeky (new)

Sheeky (sheekster) I only use mascara eyeshadow and lip gloss ((even though my parents only approve of lip gloss))

message 37: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Yep, brown eyes are weird, haha, I use, blue, black, neautral skin-toneish, red and brown eye-shadow. Haha, I don't use eyeliner that much, it's a hassle, unless I'm using blue eyeliner! It's easier, and doesn't look sloppy.

message 38: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments The blue eyeliner is really light! The red eyeshadow is an odd shade, but it works. For some reason brown eye shadow makes my eyes look nice! :)

message 39: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Brown....dirty, shitty brown. Haha

message 40: by Jayda (last edited Jul 27, 2009 08:02PM) (new)

Jayda I use emerald/deep green eyeliner (it makes the green flecks in my brown eyes pop), brown eyeshadow, and black mascara... Other than that, I use almost any shade color. I love black, gray, and blue eyeliner.

Eyeliner is by far my favorite make-up product, other than foundation xD

message 41: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I'm so bad at using pencil liner, I just look whore-ish, I like liquid, I only have brown and black in that. The Wal-mart here has shitty, shitty selection, so the extent of what I have is limited.

message 42: by Jayda (new)

Jayda I have very fair skin, so most any color can go with it (except peach and crap... and red doesn't suit me very well) but I tend to go more towards the darker colors. Black is my favorite, but green makes my eyes pop, which I like ^^

message 43: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Nice Paige.

message 44: by Sheeky (new)

Sheeky (sheekster) My classmate Eric's mom (in elementary school) had BLUE mascara!!!!!!!

message 45: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I never use foundation, haha, I can get by on eye shadow, and mascara! My favorites!

message 46: by Jayda (new)

Jayda I wish I didn't have to use foundation. But, sadly, I have acne x.x It sucks. So I use minimal foundation (just to cover the small areas with the acne) and then some powder, if needed, and then the eye make-up. Eyes are my favorite to do ^^
