I've always been a Gilliam shipper but I must admit the new storyline makes much more sense. I kinda like the new husband ;) Either way, I'm sure Gena will give us something to blow our minds since we've been waiting for William since Book#2 goddammit!

The visual in my head just weirds me out especially if you are wanting one of your characters to get intimate with that kind of character. No thanks. lol

i personally don't like puck. His motives seem a little bit suspicious to me. who send him to gilly? who talk to him about her? somebody on the lucifer side maybe? and i think that he and winter had a serious thing. And i dont think that gena will turn him into a human, since he was already a mr tumnus before the demon.
oh and i'm sorry for my english XD

Cause goat man with the Indifference demon isn't cutting it for me. She can give him a magic 'cure' where he'll suddenly have human hands and legs but it will still leave a bad taste in my mouth. The whole thing smacks of a default 'second choice' for Gilly if she's serious about pairing these two up and William is too late. And that doesn't sit well with me.
This girl has been terrified of men and sex in general for so long then suddenly this guy pops up and she's suddenly drawn to him and protecting him? Nah. Too quick and easy.
If anything, based on GS' response, that Puck is simply the catalyst to William realizing what he had and now working to get it back. Which is fine, because while I enjoy William, he needs to work for his HEA. Plus, this gives Gilly some life experience, sort of balancing the scales between these two. Especially if Puck is as sketchy as he seems, then William will get the chance to save the girl. *shrugs* Works for me, anyway.

And clearly her 'marriage' to Puck is a big wake up call since she's been so sheltered and closed off to the world.
I just am one of the few who was never sure if Gena was serious about pairing them up (a lot of mixed signals IMO). So I'm still gonna wait and see. But yes William needs to work for it big time since he's never had to work for anything in his life. So I have zero problem there, in fact I'm glad he's going on a rampage and finally WOKE up. About damn time. It's part of the reason the idea of these two appealed to me. Gilly is different then anyone he's ever come across. But I do think that she needs to grow up more and be strong. So maybe this is what Puck's role in this will be.
♥ Melody wrote: "Gilly is different then anyone he's ever come across. But I do think that she needs to grow up more and be strong. So maybe this is what Puck's role in this will be. "I feel like this is exactly why GS is doing this. Personally, I was kind of in the same boat you are. I could go either way for William and Gilly, and I think GS couldn't go hard at a Gilly/William pairing until we got past that age issue. It could easily cross the line into skeevy territory if she didn't get a chance to grow up and come into her own before she got paired off with him.
Besides, I want a heroine who can go toe to toe with the hero, and as strong as Gilly could be, her age is a big obstacle that's only mitigated once she had some experience under her belt.
If it ever comes to sex between Puck and Gilly, I'm sure Gena will find a way to turn him fully human. Why would people think otherwise? This is paranormal romance. Anything can happen.
♥ Melody wrote: "This girl has been terrified of men and sex in general for so long then suddenly this guy pops up and she's suddenly drawn to him and protecting him? Nah. The moment their mate shows up, everything is forgotten and they only want him/her and do things they normally never would.
If Gena turns Puck into some kind of bad guy, that would be a really cheap plot device in my opinion.
So what is the big deal with the age? I really don't get it. This is a general question since I've seen it in many book series. As long as a character is 17, it is a big no go. Both from the readers and the characters.
The moment that character turns 18, everyone is fine with it.
Is this some form of prudery? Can an author get in trouble if (s)he writes about a 35 or 3625 year old character having sex with a 17 year old character?

I don't get it either. Everyone seemed fine with Twilight but for some reason it's wrong and creepy for William to get with a 17 year old. I don't get it or why this is any different.
The age thing doesn't bother me, but I do think GIlly has some growing up to do and needs more development which could have/should have been addressed a few books back IMO. We are 12 books in and she *just* turned 18.
William clearly has a passionate fanbase but I have never seen such heated arguments like I've seen over this character in an adult PR series. And I'm not directing this at anyone here. I think it was a discussion in another group thread I dared to bring up the Twilight reference and some acted like I was some simpleton who hurled an insult at them. Jesus. lol
Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "If it ever comes to sex between Puck and Gilly, I'm sure Gena will find a way to turn him fully human. Why would people think otherwise? This is paranormal romance. Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "This is what happens with most PNR couples. They never have ONS, they never wanted this, they never liked that... Hence why I'm not sold on Gilly and William being HEA. Plus the whole bonding thing. But again, loopholes and all that. What is more glaring is that she finds Puck attractive.
I think Gena never planned Gilliam to be endgame. But now with the fanbase...she feels like she has to. I personally feel like I'd prefer Puck, and if he is turned into a villain for the sake of William's storyline...I'LL BE PISSED!

The age thing comes into play, for me at least, when it comes to a character's maturity. I love PNR and genre. I was a fan of Buffy/Angel and Buffy/Spike (for different reasons) and both vamps were way older than Buffy. Buffy, however, was always portrayed as being their equal (or better) and that's what made it work.
Like I said, I'm flexible when it comes to Gilly and William. I like the idea of them, but I'm willing to go where the writing leads me as long as it's entertaining.
i have a doubt (sabin? are you there?)In The Darkest Torment gilly says that she has lived with the lords for three years by then, but she meets danika at sixteen, and she has just turn eighteen so...what the heck?
I get enough realism from life. Gillian will be Williams's salvation somehow but not without struggle ( right Gena)?
Just finished back to back reads of Darkest Touch and Darkest Torment. I'm all caught up. For what it's worth, here's what I think:William and Gilly will still end up together but it's going to take longer. Puck seems like a really good guy but he was casting longing looks over at Winter in Torin's book. His demon of Indifference probably sunk any possibility of a relationship along with her demon, Selfishness. But, the fact that he could cast longing looks despite his Indifference says that he really, really, really liked her. So, Gilly and Puck become good friends with their marriage of convenience until Gena is ready to write William's book.
You could be right! We'll see what Gena has planned. I think Gena's comment posted above is that it was going to take a big event (like Puck and Gilly) to get William to change his ways and change his life.

I tend to agree with you. I just read The Darkest Torment a couple weeks ago and I do believe Gilly and William will end up together. She's just setting up a long term obstacle now with the Puck marriage IMO.
Yes, that's what I think too. Gilly and Puck will be friends, Puck will maybe try for more but Indifference will likely sink any attempt he makes and it will drive William absolutely freakin' crazy to see the two together.
Idk I kind of like Puck with Gilly because I feel he could teach her how to get out of the horrors of her past. He doesn't tip toe around her feelings and William does. And truth be told Gilly needs someone to help her overcome all that from her past not someone that would cuddle her. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
It could go either way. I'm not really convinced that Gilly is William's HEA after reading Darkest Torment considering she is suddenly attracted and very curious about Puck. That is hard to miss. And the fact that she is grossed out at the idea of having sex with William now didn't escape my notice (this makes sense character-wise given her trauma but it's not what was represented in previous books).William is right now boiling over raging over losing her and is following them into the realm Puck took her. He will either fight to win her OR realize he's too late and missed his chance & Gilly was never his.
To me, after reading Darkest Torment, it played more like Gilly was more disturbed at saddling William with herself than being disgusted at having sex with him. she seemed disgusted with sex in general. As for Puck, for a successful triangle, she'd need to be curious about him at least. Curious and actually able to have sex with him are two different things. Now, it absolutely could go a different way, but to me, it felt like a delay more than a permanent change in direction for them. *shrugs* I'm just praying the story, when finally told, is well written.

She seemed to be more worried about making him weak or unhappy. that's why she married with Puck in first place.
Someone asked about William's story on FB.I'm figuring out a few details for William's story. Un-coding his book myself so I can un-code it for readers
Someone asked about William's HEA on Facebook aaaaaaaand:He's not the book after Cameo, but he's the book after the book after Cameo (LOL what a mouthful!)
FINALLY!!!!!
Wow. Looks like she's wrapping it up unless she changed her mind, again. lol She said a while back she wanted to save his book for last.
I would cry is this one ends. I will say though, that she needs to do a book of 1 or 2 chapters of each couple as an afterword. I wanna know about their futures!!!
but now the Angels are in the LOTU series, so probably after William's book there's gonna be more about them
Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "I remember that as well.Do you really think she'll end the series?"
I initially didn't think so since it seems very open ended and now she's crossing the Angels over too. But ever since she said that I was expecting to get William's book *near the end* whenever that may be. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I'd be happy as long as she gives us more of the Angels and we get a chance to keep seeing the Lords in those books. Sometimes it's good to know when to end it, instead of dragging it out and letting the quality dip. I can respect that.
I also can respect a writier who knows when it's time to end a series. When did the first LOTU book come out? I want to say around 2008 or 2009? Is that right? So, another 3 books would mean, the LOTU would still be around in 2019.It's tough to keep a series going 10 years or more. I think it's better to end it, then do a spin off, building on all the extensive, previous world building and allowing the old characters to pop in and out when appropriate. I wish several writers of series I follow would do that, instead of dragging it out with a long, slow, painful decline.
Lulu wrote: "I wish several writers of series I follow would do that, instead of dragging it out with a long, slow, painful decline. ."Boy do I hear that. It's hard to keep changing things up enough to keep it fresh. I hate when the characters start to blend together and I genuinely cannot tell who's who because they all sound/act the same.
I agree with you. No matter how much I enjoy a book/TV series, I want it to end when it's still good! I hate it when a series is dragged out and gets repetitive and boring.Well, wasn't the Angel series a spin-off? I know she now says the Angels will be part of the LOTU series. Hm, we can only wait and see. She would have enough characters to continue (the Angels, the other demon-possesed people like Winter etc.).
I think Galen will be next before we get William's book.
She's said she would love to write a book for pretty much every new character that's been introduced in the last 5 books. She's even said she wants to write books for William's kids (that's so weird for me to say lol) the remaining Horsemen of the Apocolypse. Personally I think she should give books to Galen and Legion, Gilly and the remaining Angels that are crossing over since she built up their story arcs in the spin off then wrap it up.
I know a bunch of new Immortals have been introduced who are also possessed by demons (Indifference being one) but not sure it would be as interesting since not much development has been shown there. There's also Lucifer and Hades. And one of them is hooking up with Taliyah....was it Lucifer?
For me, and this is just my opinion, this series has been declining for a while now where plot holes and inconsistencies are showing and all the characters personalities and dialogue are blending together. So I think it wouldn't be bad to wrap it up instead of running it into the ground.
I think it would be great if she started a new Paranormal series. I honestly think her Angels spin off series was really gaining momentum and getting better with each book (I was enjoying it more than her recent LOTU books) when she stopped it.
I think the remaining angels are 2? Axel and Bjorn. It's been a while so maybe I'm missing one. But that's 2 books right there.
I agree with you all! Wrap up the series and then do a spin off. Everyone who reads the LOTU series would follow her over to the spin off and it would likely be more coherent. Trying to keep it all in the LOTU series just makes characters and events start to blend together.Melody, I think it is supposed to be Hades and Taliyah. Lucifer is the real evil one. Hades apparently is a good guy underneath lol! Though I'd have a tough time if I were Taliyah, knowing how Hades felt about what's-her-name (Keeley? See how characters begin to blend together. I'm not even sure that was her name.) Hades tried to win her back though I guess he did betray her to begin with and let her suffer for centuries. Heck. he had Taliyah tied up in his bed and was trying to woo Keeley back. Uh, that's a big fat NO!
Sarah, I don't know, I'd suspect maybe Gena got busy with her contemporary series and maybe sales weren't great for the Angels spin-off so she decided to fold those characters into the LOTU.
This sounds logical. Well, as long as we see more of the Angels in the LOTU series I'm fine with it. But in general a spin-off with the Lords as "side characters" would be better and refreshing for the world.
Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "Do we know why the Angels spin-off was stopped? I really liked it."I thought at first it was because of poor sales but I think it was more she had no time because she's writing so many series at the same time and pulling them out so fast. That's just my hunch. She now seems to be focusing more on her YA/NA novels I've noticed.
But yes I agree, I really liked the Angel series. And just when it was getting really good and on solid footing it stops. *sigh*
Agreed, I was getting into the Angel series too. I'm not a reader of YA/NA but I guess there is a huge market and they are all hoping to pull a Twilight or Hunger Games and have a series picked up for movies or TV.
I finished the Darkest Promise (Cameo/Lazarus) and Williams doesn't get a lot of page time but what he does get is pretty significant in the sense that (view spoiler)
I'm tired of this back and forth with his character. If Gilly isn't his HEA, then just say it. And stop teasing us with the ship. Most of us in fact want them togheter. I understand if there's people who don't. That's okay. But if you aren't sure about a pairing, then you should stop teasing them on the books for sales or just for your fans. it's unfair for us.
