I used to like celebrity BB - watching faded/non/soapy celebs trying to rekindle their careers through ritual humiliation often fun.

message 53: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments I watched one episode with my daughter and remember a guy and blond twins who took ignorance to a whole new level.

message 54: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 186 comments I'm with Lynne! I don't watch reality telly! who cares! I turn on the idiot box to watch something I can become engrossed in...like NCIS or House(which has ended..sadly)

I love the olympics, but I want to see more international stuff..not only the US teams(which are broadcast constantly...I mean there are loads of countries out there competeing!

I agree, wish we could have a tv burning. In most cases what's on is a load of rubbish, especially BB.

Weenie Two golds for Team GB - get in!

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 82 comments Bosh!

3 cheers for boxer Anthony Ogogo who beat the undisputed world no 1 in his last bout....even our footie teams doing well which is a surprise for the men anyway.....growing my sidies in honour of Sir Wiggo.

message 66: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2769 comments You're doing great so far.. Jessica Ennis is gorgeous... The Canucks have done ok so far.. kind of disappointed with their rowing results.

message 67: by Louise (new)

Louise I was forced to go to the olympic park this week..... the best thing I can say is it had a nice phone box sculpture......

message 68: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2769 comments Excellent coverage on the BBC. The announcers are also quite excellent.

Hard to change the habits of a lifetime. Have decided I also like women's triathlon........sort of Baywatch athletics lol.

message 70: by Andy (new)

Andy Bird | 174 comments Saturday was amazing - GB delivering for once. We should have a 'not grumpy' thread.

message 71: by Deanne (new)

Deanne | 651 comments Great to watch doing so well, Jessica Ennis was fantastic.

And even more to come hopefully. I'm even vaguely interested in tennis for once.

message 73: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2769 comments Laura Robson is a sweetie..

message 74: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments The tennis is quite exciting, so many deuces. I like Roger but it's Andy's turn to win. I want to stay and watch but it's my daughter's birthday and I have to go celebrate.

message 75: by Weenie (new)

Weenie Well done to Andy - great to see him pick up the medal (and singing some of the national anthem!) after a relatively easy win over Federer!

message 77: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2769 comments Heading off to Manchester tomorrow to watch Canada women play against USA... *fingers crossed*

Kelly 'Perusing Princesses blog' (kelly-perusingprincesses) | 33 comments I think we have done a wonderful job with the Olympics. I hate sport, but I have been enamoured with how well our country has embraced it, and how amazing TeamGB have been. I'm rather proud to be British at the moment.

Also, watching those male swimmers does have it's perks. :P

Deanne | 651 comments Bill
Hope the Cannucks win.

message 80: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments Well said Kelly, I rarely watch any sport but keep tuning in to the Olympics. Am feeling quite patriotic. Team GB have done so well.

To be 3rd on the medal league under China and USA is an incredible feat, so proud.

message 82: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments I am too. Mum was saying we have more medals than anyone if it's based on population. Some numpty has penalised one of our triatheletes!

I could complain about the penalty that I don't think was deserved, but ah well. It was a very exciting back and forth game.. You Brits are doing so very well this year. The coverage has been excellent.
Must say the hotel at the Old Trafford Cricket Grounds was excellent. Highly recommend it as a place to stay if you're going to Manchester. Oh, also had a lovely visit to Chatsworth House on the way back to Lincolnshire.. Wow! How beautiful...

message 85: by Lee (new)

Lee (parno) | 6 comments If Yorkshire was a country it would be 10th in the medals table.

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

Team GB is doing amazingly well. The dressage was beautiful. First gold medal for 60 years!

message 87: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments Our local news team wanted to work out the separate areas as Manchester is doing well at medals they said. Lots of the bikers train at Manchester velodrome that was built for the Commonwealth games.

Bill
Can't believe you passed through Derbyshire and didn't pop in for a cup of tea.

message 90: by Dave (new)

Dave Wood (pocket7976) | 768 comments Definitely to keep them in Deanne lol

Have found myself watching more sport than I expected over the last few weeks. Although I drew the line at the dancing horses!!

message 91: by Michael (new)

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 82 comments The dancing horses are the funniest things I've seen in years.

message 92: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3446 comments I like the idea of the dancing horses. Dressage is very odd. I've liked the cycling. Missed today's, did we win?

message 93: by Weenie (new)

Weenie Helen wrote: "Missed today's, did we win?

No we didn't. Been so spoilt lately that I'm expecting at least a gold medal every day!

message 96: by HJ (new)

HJ Catherine wrote: "I missed the dancing horses! :( when did they show them?!?!?!"

I think they mean the dressage. I think it's all over now, unfortunately. But you should be able to see it on iPlayer.
