Lisa what did you think of "Monster?" I thought it was so disquieting!

message 6: by Mary Todd (new)

Mary Todd (MaryTodd) | 924 comments yes, and sort of a religious bent on evolution. Very wierd, I listened to it in my car...I admit I found myself driving around the block to finish a chapter.
I think the part where whatshername bonded with the saquatches was the best! Very well thought out and realistic. I have been around animals all my life and I think that is exactly what would have happened. I loved the hairbrush part!

message 7: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 29 comments Thanks for the acknowledgement:) If you haven't read the twilight series yet, you'll get in about 4-5 books in a week too, just like I couldn't teat myself away from them!!:)

Mary Todd (MaryTodd) | 924 comments 30. Kabul Beauty School--very good, but I knew from my son in the Peace Corps that you shouldn't mess with a culture you don't understand...if you read this, then do a Google news search on what happened after the book was published!
31. Scarpetta--not enough forensics, too much soap opera IMO

message 31: by Michael (new)

Michael (bigorangemichael) | 52 comments A great list. Any one novel you recommend?

message 32: by Mary Todd (new)

Mary Todd (MaryTodd) | 924 comments I think if I were only to choose one it would be The Suspisions of Mr. Whicher...it is non-fiction, HOWEVER, it talks about the origin of detective fiction as it tells the story. I found it really fascinating.

message 33: by Mary Todd (new)

Mary Todd (MaryTodd) | 924 comments 42. Look Again Lisa Scottoline
43. The Comforts of a Muddy Saturday: An Isabel Dalhousie Novel

both of these were terrific! Look Again has kind of a cheesy ending, but it's good.

message 43: by Kate (new)

Kate (KateKSH) | 733 comments Just read on someone else's list that you teach social skills through drama to Aspberger's kids and that you had boys, not girls . . . Could you move into my house for a while? Show me how this is done? I might be living your life!!! Off to finish Wally Lamb's latest -- fine book but it's taking me FOREVER!
