Q-“Will there be a book trailer for clockwork princess soon? I’d really hope so. :)
A-
— They’re working on the trailer now. I can tell you that the lovely girl from the cover of Clockwork Princess will play Tessa. I don’t know when exactly the trailer would be released. I would guess late February.
Exciting news guys

Q-Hi Cassie! I’ve been wondering, there are so many of the same families in both TMI and TID, but one family I haven’t heard of in TID are the Morgensterns. Will a Morgenstern be in Clockwork Princess?
A-Yep

The question was for CP2...when Sebastian said it it was however many years later he could have been telling the truth.

Q-“Hello! I am equal parts excited and terrified for Clockwork Princess, and I was wondering, will there be any of Jem’s POV in it? Also, will Jem still be in Clockwork Princess a lot (I hope that makes sense!)? It’s just that from reading the jacket copy and snippets, it makes it sound as though he will be cut out of a lot of the action and story what with being so ill, and I am very much hoping this is not true, as he is my favourite! Thank-you, even if you can’t answer :D
A-
— Jem is in it plenty, and yes we do see his point of view! It’s quite a long book, and though he does get ill, we don’t know if he gets better, or at what point in the book he gets sick. He has time to do quite a lot. (via cassandraclare)

Q-“So… the Clockwork Princess epilogue will be from whose POV? PS. Thank you for all your CP2 snippets. So far you have shared 40 (!!!) with us and that’s absolutely amazing. You are so wonderful to all of your fans. ♥

That is because I love you! And perhaps, because I am slightly crazy.
The epilogue, which takes place in presentish day, is from Tessa’s POV.

Q-“Hi Cassie, with the CP2 snippet I was wondering, is there gonna be a DS_S in this book? I think I remember there’s a D in there but not sure. Anyways I hope to see some more sexy side from the Lightwood guys if we can’t have it from Jessa/Twill … love you a lot!
A-For those confused, a “DS_S” is a “Dirty Sexy Something Scene.” Dirty Sexy Alley Scene (CoFA), Dirty Sexy Bed Scene (CP) , Dirty Sexy Club Scene (CoLS.)
My husband: Your fans are unreconstructed perverts.
Me: I know, they’re awesome that way.
First, just to say, a sexytimes scenes doesn’t mean sex necessarily. You can have a really sexy scene with no sex — I always thought the scene where Will takes off Tessa’s glove was sexy, or (in Clockwork Princess) the scene where Jem plays the violin for her. Anyway, I hope so.
But yes, there are sexytimes in Clockwork Princess. There’s a lot of passion kept under wraps; they’re Victorians! The Lightwood boys too.

Q-Sup Cass!
I just wanted to ask that what if Jem HADN’T proposed? Would Will have asked Tessa or would he still push her away?
A-
We know what Will would have done if Jem hadn’t proposed, because he did it.
(This is kind of fun, as CP2 nears I get to put my analyst hat back on and talk about what people were feeling in CP2 and why they did the things they did and how they feel about it.)
When he came to Tessa in the drawing-room in CP, he had no idea Jem had proposed. He didn’t try to push her away. Neither did he propose. He apologized for his bad behavior — which, whatever the impossible circumstances that prompted it and dictated that he could act no other way, was still bad behavior (drugs, crabbiness, moping, suggesting Tessa might be kind of a prostitute) — because he knows people’s feelings aren’t just faucets you can turn on and off. He can say, “Tessa, here are the reasons I acted the way I acted!” but she’ll need a little time to adjust to the idea and alter her view of him. He gets that; it’s reasonable.
He has no reason to keep pushing Tessa away and so he doesn’t. He’s happy and shy around her until he gets her alone, and then he just tells her the truth. The pure, unadulterated truth about why he behaved like he did, and what his feelings for her are, and what he is hoping for. He isn’t hoping to propose and be accepted because that’s like hoping to win the Olympic gold without ever having strapped on a pair of skis. He’s hoping she’ll understand what he’s saying and give him a chance, so he can properly, actually court her as the real Will.
Okay, he also kisses her, but Jeez, the poor guy, he hasn’t ever kissed anyone without HIS TERRIBLE SECRET looming over him, and we can’t always rein it all in.
Whether, if Jem had not proposed, and Will had said what he said, Will and Tessa would have entered into a mutually pleasing courtship that ended in marriage isn’t something we can know yet.

Q-Dear C:
I wanted to ask you something…You know, I know ALL the girls love William, but I hate him a lot! You have no idea, and I just wanted to know if he will ever cry in the series? I really will be satisfied if he did so and I think it’ll be kinda’ of cute, but it was just a question… Will he?
A-HAS THE POOR BOY NOT SUFFERED ENOUGH? :) Not everyone loves Will. Will’s difficult. He’s not much of a crier, either, being both a Victorian male and someone who’s spent a lot of time hiding what he’s feeling. Also, while I have no problem with characters crying, I think there’s a variety of ways to show grief and pain and crying is only one!

I can help with the first part..Lovelace
Second part I dunno depression? She has a why me attitude, her parents died she's living in a world she wants no part of but there's also something else cause she still plays with her doll house and pretends its her and her family

yeah I was thinking maybe major depression..I have a feeling that will be the diagnosis for a lot of the characters sadly:p
I have a question...Did Adele really turn into a Forsaken? It's just I am re-reading City of Bones and Jace said how the runes affect them but he also said that that is what becomes of perfectly ordinary humans with no trace of Shadowhunter ancestry...so maybe it wasn't what happened to Adele...I think it's just assumed that's what she became...Hmm I don't know and the whole thing that throws me off is how much she looks like Tessa apparently.
Q-“Hi, Cassie! So, I’ve finished Clockwork Princess for the second time yesterday, and I need to ask; how did Jem get released from the Silent City? Just because they gave him a cure? I mean, Brother Enoch is still there, so you probably don’t have a century-or-two long contract. Did they just give him the cure and let him go?”
A-The Silent Brothers didn’t cure Jem.
I know we don’t get the answer to how Jem was cured in Clockwork Princess. You don’t need to know (although I can understanding wanting to know!) how Jem was cured to understand Clockwork Princess. It’s not really part of the story of TiD (except in the sense that Jem is free to travel with Tessa at the end of the series). It’s part of the story of TMI — which at the very end of Clockwork Princess overlaps slightly, but it not part of, The Infernal Devices. (The epilogue of Princess takes place either during the very end of CoHF or after it is over.)
As for why the Silent Brothers “let Jem go” — once he’s not a Silent Brother any more, why would they want him in the Silent City? The only people there are Silent Brothers and criminals in the jail cells. They would boot him if he did want to stay which fortunately, he doesn’t. :) It’s not really an issue of why they would let him go. They aren’t keeping Silent Brothers prisoner there. Once you become a Silent Brother, you have to live in the Silent City. If you unbecome one, you have to move out. It’s like a college freshman dorm.

Q-““Hi Cassie! okay, so, I literally just finished Clockwork Princess. literally less than two minutes ago. I’m crying really hard and I can barely type because my tears. (But in a good way, of course.) So I do have a few questions, but let me start by saying this. Thank you. Thank you so so so incredibly much for writing this series. Its my favorite. I’ve read so many books and in all of them, I’ve never come across characters I could relate so strongly to. This series has honestly changed my life and I just want to say thank you so much. So my first question is about the epilogue. Jem says that Herondales and Lightwoods and Fairchilds helped him find the cure (I cried at that part). Are we going to see in CoHF how Izzy and Alec and Jace and Clary and everyone helped him find it? My second question is kind of the same. Jem’s no longer immortal, but TMI and TDA take place where he should still be alive. Are we going to see more of Jem or Tessa in CoHF or TDA? :) I just really don’t want their stories to have come to an end. Thank you so much, Cassie, for everything!
A-Thank you! You will find out how Jem is cured in TMI (“Another story of Lightwoods and Herondales and Fairchilds” — he doesn’t actually say they cured him though hey, maybe they did!) — and you will see him interact with the TMI characters. Remember that I have to be careful that nothing in TMI spoils TID, and nothing in TID spoils TMI, so either series can be read first, or independent of the other. I can’t say whether Tessa or any other character from TiD will appear in CoHF, but if they do, it has to be in a way that doesn’t spoil TiD. It’s a strange way of keeping all the stories separate but interactive, like a layer cake, but it is the way it is!
I also know it sucks to say goodbye to characters, but hopefully their stories live on through their descendants, through more stories, and through re-reads. It’s hard to imagine how you will feel about characters you haven’t met yet, but nobody cared at all about Will and Jem and Tessa until after the first book came out (and often it takes a second book to really cement it) —until they did, so I am crossing my fingers you will love Emma and Jules and Tiberius and Cristina and Matthew and James and Cordelia the same way someday.

A-I don’t know about Heavenly Fire yet, but as for Clockwork Princess, if you’re asking if there will be different editions with special content like letters — no. In every first edition of the North American version of Clockwork Princess, there will be a family tree that shows the connections between the generations in The Infernal Devices and the generation in The Mortal Instruments.
It’s pretty cool.
** First edition: A publisher prints a certain number of books. It is called a “print run.” When all those books are sold, they print a new run of books. Each print run is numbered. The first edition is every book from the first print run. How do you get a first edition? Your best bet is to pre-order the book. You can do that online anywhere that you can order books, or go into any bookstore and pre-order.
*I don’t know about its availability overseas yet.
