I'm really sorry, but it was a really slow read. I read about 100 pages and just couldn't continue. I think that it was really slow-paced and the whole plot didn't really please me

I haven't read it myself and I'm not sure if i am going to. Im still trying to decide.

I really enjoyed this sort of blogging version of the zombie apocalypse. I haven't read it recently but I really enjoyed the concept of the Stewarts and the Irwins. Buffy also cracks me up. I can't wait to read the sequel.

I loved this book! It was totally NOT what I was expecting. I really liked how they explained what caused zombies and how people were now living their lives in this kind of world. I loved the twist on a mystery and the whole blogging world. This is not really a zombie book though in my opinion, zombies are just an element in the story. While I read this I also read so I got my fast paced, action packed zombie fix at the same time.
I just finished and loved it even more! Now I can't wait to sink onto I personally would recommend this series to anyone that is not tied to the typical zombie story, enjoys a creative, witty and sarcastic type of characters and likes the intrigue of a mystery.

Oh Diane, if you liked the first two, you'll LOVE Blackout. I got these for my birthday way back in Jan and literally devoured (pun intended, haha) all of them! I love Mira Grant! The fact that she is a Virologist just makes me love her even more.

And I haven't read Hollowland yet but it's on my TBR!

I didn't care for Mira's book. It didn't draw me in, however I can understand why others would like it. It was like a detective-mystery to me, with Zombies. Just not my cuppa. Anderson's FEED I enjoyed, although I can understand why other's wouldn't. It's a character driven story, not action-driven. Plus, it's a downer.

Hollowland is free for kindle if you do e books. I liked it, the second was good but I had a few issues with the plot especially in the beginning and end.

I am about half way done and like it so far. It is a I am about half way done and like it so far. I enjoy the dystopian concept of living with zombies all around but yet trying to carry out a normal life with media coverage, election campaigns and ranches. The background on how the virus works and how it started infecting people was interesting. I like the way they explain the virus and how it is dormant in the living and coverts to reanimate the dead, unless of course there is spontaneous conversion. However, it seemed unrealistic that it wouldn’t infect mammals below forty pounds. Did anyone else think that part made no sense with the books storyline?
Overall, it is a little slow paced for me but it seems to be picking up.

I really liked the hollows series!! Remy was awesome, what can I say the girl kicked major butt. Ripley was the best tho.... if there is a zombie apocalypse I hope she is on my side!

The second half is what really sold the story to me because I was really into the intrigue of the conspiracy thing. Keep with it.

IIRC it is mentioned that mammals below forty pounds can carry the virus but can not be zombified after death.

OK, just finished - started it on the 4 hour train ride down to the parents last night, and had to finish it this morning. Before breakfast. And before tea! This is a feat for a book to do - nothing comes between me and the morning caffeine! Part of me hates the book because it made me cry, and I'm not someone who likes a good cry, but it worked for me. Not having a created romance element did it for me too - I could see places where it would have been able to be put in if she wanted it, but instead she let the plot drive the story.

With regards to the small animals thing, from what I understood, the way the virus works, it needs a certain amount of body mass for the reanimation to work, which is why small babies and animals don't reanimate.

I liked Deadline even better than Feed I think, I didn't think I would like it after the whole thing with George. By the end of Deadline I was picking my jaw up off of the floor! I can't wait to read Blackout now.
