Stephanie | 1 comments Hi everyone! I fell in love with the Shanhasson trilogy by Joely Sue Burkhart. It has the same heroine throughout and her love interest, well ... i can't say anymore without ruining the story..but there isn't cheating...but there is more than one love interest. Its not all about sex either.... Though there are a few steamy scenes... It has a great magical plot which didn't let me put the books down!!!

Melody | 1 comments I know I am a little late to the party here... but I came across the thread because I just re-read the TS series for the 4th time. I love the series and I was really hoping to find some clues here about a similar type of series I could pick up. Found some great suggestions I will be trying out and i thought I should add my own.

1. The Poison Study series is fantastic. No steamy romance but the love between Yelena and Valek is epic. The plot is intricate and the world building is superb. It also has the added value of being complete.

2. The Glass Series takes place in the same world as poison study. The author Maria V. Snyder does a great job of telling a whole new story in a familiar world. There is also a great romance here. Her books aren't about steamy love scenes but I never missed it when I was reading them.

3. The Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas. This one isn't finished but it is on book 5 now and definitely in my top 5 favorite series.

4. Air Awakens Series by Elise Kova - The artwork for the covers is a little funky but the books are great. The books are all about the love between Vhalla a library assinsatant in the royal palace who discovers she has magic and the crown prince, Aldrik. The plot is fantastic and as I type I realize it is probably the closest to the TS in terms of the romance, intriguing plot and world/character building.

All four options are amazing and deserve to be read.

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments One of the things I love best about this site is getting insight into series and authors I haven't read yet. I have read the Throne of Glass Series (as far as it has gone) and love it. I will check out the others you have advised. Thank you.

Robyn (rsb1105) | 8 comments I've been off the grid for a bit so I'm just catching up on notices.

Victoria Danann's Knights of Black Swan series is fabulous. Nine books-so far, with a spin-off series called The Exiled-the second book released today actually. There is also a 3-book set called Prince of Demons that really isn't a spin-off but is loosely related to the Black Swan series.

message 57: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments Robyn are Danann's books paranormal romance? If so is it shifters, vampires, fay, etc? I would be very interested in starting a new series.

Agnieszka | 1 comments "The legend of the ice people" Saga by Margit Sandemo. Great story - probably the only one that got me as involved as the Tairen Soul series if not more. There's 47 books so it's not everyone's cup of tea, but they are truely the type of books that once you pick it up you want to read more and more, even when you realise it's already 4am and you promise yourself "just one more chapter". Strong and very charizmatic characters, awesome intriguing story line, magic, romanse, good and evil. I read the series twice and I'm sure i will get back to read it again in a few years. I highly recommend it to all paranormal literature readers.

Hi! I too looooove this series. Have you tried the Rylee Adamson books by Shannon Mayer?

A. White | 41 comments Mydearloverboy wrote: "I have read the entire Tairen Soul series and have fallen in love with the characters. You know I found too many good paranormal romances that could have been turned into a series too. So I wrote my own. It took years to do it because I wanted to see where I could lead the characters. Now, I see why most authors stop with one book. LOL!

A. White | 41 comments What is the Tairen Soul series about? It sound interesting although I have never read it.

Shelby | 73 comments The Kate Daniel's series
The Crystor series
My Wolf's Bane series
The Dark Elements series
The Captive series

Bethyboo ღ The Book Addict ღ (atheniax) | 26 comments I adore the Tairen Soul series. Pretty sure I've read it at least 5 or 6 times. I would recommend The Others series by Anne Bishop. It's currently my favorite series. The romance is a bit more down-low than the Tairen Soul, but it stays with the same characters for 5 books and the story is just amazing!

Shirla Ghadaki | 8 comments I enjoyed the Tairen Soul books but my current favorite series is Anne Bishop's The Others. I have had some good giggles but the storyline is amazing. Can't recommend this series highly enough. Wish the next book was ready to be released.

Pavli St. (cheers95) | 6 comments Amelia Hutchins and her Fae Chronicles is amazing and you will absolutly never guess the end, also compared to a lot of other books the story develops fast.
There is NO insta love, she even hetes him in the begining and it takes her some time to even start trusting him.
The storyline was a big part of the book just like the TS series.

Hey Warren,
How are the Rylee Adamson books? I heard that there wasn't much romance in it. Is this true?

I read Air Awakens. It was really great! Thanks for the rec!

message 70: by Django (new)

Django Unchained | 2 comments I would recommend Grace Draven Wraith Kings Series is fantastic i couldnt put it down. The emotions and the relationship in itself is so real!

THE PRINCE OF NO VALUE

Brishen Khaskem, prince of the Kai, has lived content as the nonessential spare heir to a throne secured many times over. A trade and political alliance between the human kingdom of Gaur and the Kai kingdom of Bast-Haradis requires that he marry a Gauri woman to seal the treaty. Always a dutiful son, Brishen agrees to the marriage and discovers his bride is as ugly as he expected and more beautiful than he could have imagined.

THE NOBLEWOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE

Ildiko, niece of the Gauri king, has always known her only worth to the royal family lay in a strategic marriage. Resigned to her fate, she is horrified to learn that her intended groom isn’t just a foreign aristocrat but the younger prince of a people neither familiar nor human. Bound to her new husband, Ildiko will leave behind all she’s known to embrace a man shrouded in darkness but with a soul forged by light.

Two people brought together by the trappings of duty and politics will discover they are destined for each other, even as the powers of a hostile kingdom scheme to tear them apart.

There is also the The Winter King from C.L. Wilson who also wrote the Tairen Soul series and its quite good too. Its part of a series but each book will have a new couple. :3 both of these books also have very very hot scenes.

I´m also a huge fan of the Tairen Soul series and have read many of Diana Gabaldon´s books as well. I love Historical Romance! I don´t want to sound pretentious, but maybe you would like my books. I´ve just published VIKING in English, and it's part of an ongoing five part series that I wrote in Spanish and is now being translated into English. The whole series has been a bestseller on amazon.es VIKING : A LOVE STORY, ABOUT PASSION, FANTASY, SEX AND VIKINGS I would love to have some feedback.
Thanks!

Mystique | 17 comments update: the Anne Bishop Black Jewels series have the same type of heavy fantasy world-building as tairen soul, but much darker.

message 73: by Aniketa (last edited Feb 14, 2018 01:07AM) (new)

Aniketa | 22 comments Hi 😊
I second the Radiance series by Grace Craven.
I would recommend The Kushiels legacy series by Jacqueline Carey .
In particular the first trilogy Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Kushiel's Chosen (Phèdre's Trilogy, #2) by Jacqueline Carey Kushiel's Avatar (Phèdre's Trilogy, #3) by Jacqueline Carey
The books have good world building, it is set in a fantastic Europe and there are a lot of similarities with past European reigns and populations.
The love story between the protagonist and her eventual consort developes beautifully and in a very realistic way. No love at first sight here, actually they couldn't stand each other at first.

Shirla Ghadaki | 8 comments I found the Anne Bishop’s Books on the Others to be be equal to the Tairan Souls series.

message 75: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessicalynfox) | 4 comments A Court of Thorns and Roses it is marketed as young adult/new adult, but it it doesn’t read that way. Very similar to Tairen Soul.

★Me Myshelf and I★ | 59 comments Aw rage does her jewel series have any steamy scenes?

message 79: by Mystique (new)

Mystique | 17 comments I just read the Anne Bishop Jewels' series. It's much much darker than tairen soul and is my opinion, quite a gem! It has an unpredictable plot and great character development. You should give that one a try!
I'm going to give The Others by Ms.Bishop too a try! I'll let you guys know how it goes :)

message 80: by Nevada (new)

Nevada (vadatastic) | 53 comments If you read the Others series by Anne Bishop for romance, you're going to be sorely disappointed. They finally get to hand holding and a cheek kiss/lick in book 5. It's a really enjoyable series for plot and characters, but there is no love or romance.

message 81: by Shirla (new)

Shirla Ghadaki | 8 comments I think I loved “The Others” because there was just a hint of romance. However, the relationship between the main characters is slowly developed with the succession of each book.

Sorry but really didn't like it...
