It is more for the stuff inside. finding a book with a mirror on the cover is just a matter of looking at the cover, but until you read Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole you wouldn't know there is a mirror, or a bridge, or wouldn't be sure there was mention of a light source, knife or boots etc.

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Be sure when you are suggesting books they meet the 200 page requirement too.

It counts

message 33: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) It counts. The item doesn't have to be on the cover, anywhere in the book is fine. Sorry I think I over explained in my original reply.

message 34: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) Okay, then I have a question about The Next Always (Inn BoonsBoro, #1) by Nora Roberts but it is a bit of a spoiler: (view spoiler)

message 35: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Yes Lisa Kay. It would count for mirror. Any mention of the item in a book will count, no matter how small.

I think I might ask for page number if it is an item in the book.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) So the mirror of Erised would work from Harry Potter (if we read/re-read that book)

message 37: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) Oh, great! Because I'm "re-reading" those via audio! Drat! I already listened to the first one. LOL!

Yup. Just have to find the word "mirror" any context.

message 40: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) For mirror, I'm gonna suggest Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning . (Not sure about Faefever.) I can't remember if Mac calls them mirrors at all, but those books have a lot of talk about the Sifting Silvers. (Actually, now that I think about it, I think there's a mirror mentioned in Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning .

Silvers=Mirrors right? That is how I always thought it to be. And I think they do talk about it in Faefever too as well as some of the Highlander books.

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Can the items we find from books that we already read? I'm not clear on this at all. I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

message 43: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) If you actually re-read the book after the challenge starts, you can count the items.

The item of the week also has to be in the book you are reading.
Example:
Week 1 mirror gets called you read a book with a mirror, flower, castle and a shoe.
Week 2 Castle gets called, you already have your castle point but if you read another castle book you can then claim 3 other items from it. You can't just read any item.

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Okay thank you that clear things up for me quite a bit.

message 45: by Alyssa (last edited Jul 01, 2012 03:06AM) (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) I'm looking at Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane to maybe use for BRIDGE. Is that a bridge in the lower left corner, or just a railing? Or, does it have a bridge in it? Anyone know?

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) I can't remember a bridge being in it

Showed my mom and we both think it is a bridge but lets wait to see what Dawns says.

message 48: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) The lower left corner looks more like a roof top ledge to me. It could be a sidewalk bridge, not sure. But the middle of the cover (under the author name) looks like a highway overpass to me and that is a type of bridge so it would work for me.

Dawn I didn't even see that good eye

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 675 comments Are any of these books have any bridge in it?

Until I Die (Revenants, #2) by Amy Plum Above by Leah Bobet Dreamless (Starcrossed, #2) by Josephine Angelini Taken at Dusk (Shadow Falls, #3) by C.C. Hunter Liar's Moon (Thief Errant, #2) by Elizabeth C. Bunce Everneath (Everneath, #1) by Brodi Ashton

I really hope so I wouldn't have to track down another book at my library.
