did anyone do anything special for bloomsday? i didn't take part in any organized readings, but i read most of the nausicaa episode sitting on the couch, in the gathering dusk, like bloom, feeling the rising and falling of the nearby sea.

Yes The Santa Cruz Wakers gathered, and had a fabulous potluck, bbqd chicken, Guinness, Gorgonzola (see Ulysses) and Beet Salad, and shortbread biscuits (cookies)--and cheese platter reflected the three cities at the very bottom of the last page of Ulysses (Paris, Trieste, Zurich). We watched a video on Bloomsday around the world.
