Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Hi everyone!

It's nice to meet you all. I'm Michelle and I have played before :) I have 3 little monsters at home so I have to go do the School & nursery runs then do a little shopping (which includes a new usb cable for my phone which decided to give in on me last night).
I'll be back in a few hours an I'll send friend requests to everyone then. Were is everyone from? I'm in Scotland.

Once everyone is here we can decide on a Captain, in the meantime get thinking about a name for our little Bingo team :)

I'm looking forward to reading with you ladies. Julianne if you have any questions feel free to ask and we'll try and answer them.

message 17: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments And I'm from Canada, born and raised on the West Coast. I'm married and have 3 boys, aged 12, 13 and 14...they bring new meaning to the phrase "every day is an adventure"

message 18: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Ooo, I like Five Femme Fatales...makes us sound all badass.

message 19: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I can imagine! I have two boys 7 & (almost) 4 and my baby girl is 22months. You must have been shattered constantly in the early years - has it got any better?

message 20: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments The oldest and youngest are my step-sons so I wasn't around until they were 2 and 4 but it was still pretty crazy when they were all little. Things have gotten better in some ways and worse in others (the 14yo with problems in high school). Plus they smell bad and have pre-pubescant attitudes (or full pubescant for the 14yo). lol

message 21: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I don't want to pull my hair out on a daily basis anymore though so that's a big bonus.

message 24: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 513 comments Julianne, I can't imagine what your day is like with 3 boys so close in age!All that energy and appetite!

message 25: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I guess they do just have different issues and you still worry no matter their age! I don't envy you right now though, I'm dreading puberty...

Lol on the smelling bad :)

message 26: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I used to think it was a lot like having triplets, at least now they are self sufficient. The appetites are already ridiculous, I'm scared of what the food bill is going to look like when the other two hit puberty.

message 27: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments They do put some amount of food away. Mine have doubled their bread & milk consumption in the past few months and they constantly say "I'm hungry".

message 28: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Michelle wrote: "I guess they do just have different issues and you still worry no matter their age! "

So true. We were on the ferry last weekend and the kids and my husband wanted to stand at the railing and watch the water. I stomach was a knot and I was a total spazz. The kids of course found humor in this and decided to mock jump the railing and commence horseplay. I had to go inside the ferry. The worst part of all was the realization that I have become my mother.

It's crazy what they can put away. Mine used to eat a lot when they were little too.

My worst fear came to life!

message 31: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Remember ladies you can pick your Free Space book at anytime and once the first shelf is announced you can read it.

Is anyone friends with Janelea or Cathy? I'm wondering if they know the teams are up.

message 32: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Mine too! I remember the way she used to freak when I got too close to an edge and I was always "Mom, i'm fine" and she was all "but you might slip and fall" and I was all "mom, it's a second floor balcony"...you get the picture. But I had this knot in the small of my back and was in a state of panic at the thought that one of them might fall over the edge and into the water. I swear I wasn't like that 5 years ago.

message 33: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Jaye (can I call you that?)- do you have any kids?

Thank you. :) And I was trying to search through the discussion thread to find them but it was a little overwhelming.

message 35: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I found them both and sent messages to them :)

message 36: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Is there any shelves that you aren't looking forward too? Anyone? They all seem pretty good this time around for me. Young Adult is probably my least favourite to be honest but I have books to cover that.

message 37: by Lady Jaye (new)

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 513 comments No, Michelle, no kids yet. I am a big baby myself - 24. But someday, hopefully.

message 38: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I think I have everything pretty well covered, I went through them all last night. (and printed out my card an jotted sown some tentative books) Demons may give me a problem, only because I'm working through Lords of the Underworld but I need to be in the right mood for it. The rest of the categories I have plenty to choose from off my physical TBR stack. *cough* mountain *cough*

message 39: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Michelle, I used to love YA but the more I read the adult ones the more I find the YA can't hold my interest as much. Unless it's dystopian...love me some YA dystopian. lol

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Lady Jaye wrote: "No, Michelle, no kids yet. I am a big baby myself - 24. But someday, hopefully."

Have you played Bingo before?

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Have you tried Jenifer Estep's new YA - I loved it! I usually feel as if I'm getting to old for teenage angst.

I got a shipment from book depository a couple weeks ago and they are still in the box because i don't have room for them. :(
I'm planning to get a new bookcase very soon...it will be lovely. :-)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Julianne wrote: "Are you talking about Myhtos Academy or is there a different one?"

No that's the one, I think it might have been out for a while but I just read them all recently, I liked them more than I expected. It might have been the Spartan that did it though...

message 46: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments I like Spartans. That one is is definitely on my list...I have about 15 YA series I own but haven't started so my goal is to get through at least some of them before I buy any more YA series. (More if you include the kids books I'd like to read)

Ouch! That is a lot, I'm not sure how many I have. The only reason I read them was I had an ARC of the latest one and I hate not reading in order. Maybe you can use your shelves to make a dent in them!

message 48: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments That's my plan. :) Mind you I have a heckuvalot more unread adult books. lol
