Poems Short Stories or Novels?

What do you prefer to write? What have you tried to do?

Hmm well... I've written all of the options and I definitely think that poetry and short stories are easier than novels. I'm still not finished with my one that I tried to write and I don't even remember where I was going so I sort of gave up. I'll come backto it eventually but right now I'm a poet ^_^ poetry is fun to write

Personally, i think my poems/song lyrics suck. in my opinion, i'm much better at writing stories.
Most of the time, i write novels. I don't remember the last time i wrote a short story...but i have :)

I am trying a novel. I have 27,000 words so far. I love writing poetry, but I'm not the best. Pretty good though. I am frankly terrible at short stories. I tried one once and it ended up at 25 pages (2x spaced, though). It was for school and supposed to be three pages (double spaced). Needless to say, my english teacher was very proud and gave me a 100 for the assignment. But i can't write very short stories. I like development.

Lol I know exactly what you mean. I wrote a story for a contest at my scho in four pages. I hated it absolutely terrible but they wouldn't accept any more than that. I tore it up when I got it back haha

Lol I gave a try at writing a fanfic for a series by Ally Carter a few years ago and I got a few chapters into it before I quit it. Then I tried poetry and I love it, and am still working on my novel, I have no idea how many words it is so far but I know I have around 80 poems :D

I tried to write a poem but no one ever understands the message I'm trying to convey.When I look back on it,I can't make any sense of what I've written either.I have all these words and lines right but just don't know where or how to use them.So it usually ends up a big mess.

You could do like.....abstract writing Kelley, y'know where everyone is like "Oh it's so beautiful" but it actually makes no sense at all.
