Stephanie I really loved the music E.L. James mentioned in the Fifty Shades Trilogy. The songs she chose are perfect songs for what's happening in the books. Most of the songs I have heard before. The song I loved the most, is one of the songs I have never heard before. It is the perfect song for Ana from Christian, when they decide to try for "more". Try by Nelly Furtado. It is beautiful, hopeful, romantic, and gives me goose bumps whenever I hear it. I can't get this haunting song off my mind.

Yes it's awesome. I saw her playlist as I was looking up all the songs she mentioned in the books.

Vee Well, I am glad I am not the only one. I looked up the songs as I was reading the books. Thanks for the link.

Judi Thank you for the links to the songs! This is great!!

Genius thanks for this. I haven't had the time to look up the longs myself.

Sibylla Matilde I made playlists for each book on Spotify so I can listen to it all for free... There were a couple songs that I couldn't find, but for the most part, it was great. I also have a list on there that is called "beautiful, sad, f***ed-up Fifty" which consists of the slow piano music that he plays... Helped a lot when I was reading the books again (for the fourth time) so I could match the music up with where I was in the book...

I did the same thing..lol I've only read it 3 times. But I'm planning on reading it again soon. The music is beautiful & intense just like the book. Love it!

I love music from all their albums. Everything from Holy Roller Novacaine to Taper Jean Girl to Charmer to I Want You to The Face... I freakin' love them, so much that my husband and kids are all sick to death of listening to them. I try to limit myself now to listen to them at work and use Spotify, which keeps track of how much you listen to certain musicians. By the end of the month have over 800 listens to KOL vs. 20-40 for any other groups/artists...

Siouxie and the Banshees?

Sibylla Matilde LOL... probably before your time. Siouxie and the Banshees are probably most well known for this song from Batman Returns in the early 90s...

They are a bit odd, but I get on a kick w/ them from time to time... Some of my other older favorites are Concrete Blonde and The Outfield...

Dire Straits has a few songs i like, and the black keys are phenomenal. Can't say i'm too big on Sinatra though.

I just can't ever get into his music. I mean i love music from that time period, but not that style.

It actually helped that Witchcraft was one of the songs on E.L.'s playlist... as was Come Fly With Me, but I don't care for that one so much...

Yes their sound is great, i love the whole Brother album. I saw them live and they sound even better in person. i Would love to see the play with any of Jack White's current bands.

Ps_from_cali Was wondering where we can get a complete list of all of the songs in the books. On EL's website not all songs are mentioned??? I.E. Dido White Flags Chapter 19 page 394

Debby I love the whole bunch of Fifty shades soundtrack created by ELJames.. Wow, I hope to see the book on the big screen with all the songs and musics in it. The Scientist was my favorite before I read it in Fifty Shades and damn, I still love it. I love it. love the classic piano pieces as well. :) <3

Brendan Muller Im digging the rendition of crazy in love thats in the trailer.

message 38: by Aileen (new)

Aileen There are several websites that list all the songs. Youtube has several playlists. Gradient Vibrations, a Fifty Shades Trilogy music fan page on FB (also has a playlist on Spotify) with all of the songs listed in the trilogy - including the ones mentioned (like Dido White Flag) that are not listed on EL James website. The music the author chose in the trilogy is honestly, quite powerful! @Brendan - love the new Beyonce' rendition too ;)

Marriyam Gunaratne Thank you so much for the link

Spruha The music in the trilogy and tasteful and varied. There is everything from Sinatra to Queen Bey. Not to mention the fact that the music seamlessly fits into the text.

I really like songs... That's cool that I'm not the only one who checks the songs :D

message 44: by Bianca (last edited Feb 17, 2015 12:31AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Bianca In my view, the best thing about the trilogy was the music. I'd discovered some amazing songs that I probably wouldn't have discovered otherwise: "The Flower Duet" from Lakme by Delibes; Damien Rice's "Blower's Daughter"; I also discovered Eva Casidy.
