The Doors - Unknown Soldier

message 12: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1679 comments If only I could stop singing Here Comes the BOOM. freaking movie. I'm not even sure if there are any more words than Ready or Not...BOOM

message 13: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) BOOM?

Dare I ask for a link?

message 14: by Dr. Detroit (new)

Dr. Detroit | 6019 comments Amelia wrote: "Anything by Elvis."

Grrrrrr...

message 15: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) Clark, we can't agree on everything.

It's a very, very bad association that ruined all Elvis music for me for life. There's nothing I can do about it now. Just the sound of his voice makes me cringe.

evie (ecie) | 4263 comments Anything by Abba.

I love that song.

message 19: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7089 comments Yeah, just takes me back to places I'd rather forget. You are younger, and less of a curmudgeon.

message 20: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7089 comments "Nights in White Satin," The Moody Blues.

message 21: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) I love Janis Ian, but she does tend to be sad.

"I Will Survive" - Gloria Gaynor
"Thriller" - Michael Jackson
"Long Distance Runaround" - Yes

message 24: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7089 comments I get pretty bummed out by Silly Love Songs, and pretty much anything by John Lennon. That Christmas/War is Over one makes me want to slit my wrists.

Very much agree with Clark on Wings and Yes. Blurgh.

How does Macca go from "Silly Love Songs" to "Medicine Jar," "Girls School," and "Junior's Farm" - all three pretty solid efforts?

I don't get it.

Meels (amelia) She Works Hard for the Money - Donna Summer
Dancing on the Ceiling - was that Richie? Whatever.
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
Arthur's Theme - Christopher Cross
Lady in Red - Chris De Burgh (My step-mom's fav song. She used to run it on repeat...while drunk...for HOURS.)
Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer (I see the video in my head...makes insane!)

message 27: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7089 comments I've heard way too many crappy versions of "On Eagles' Wings" at funerals to ever want to hear it again.

P.S. Oh Amelia, sorry about the Lady in Red on repeat. That song is horrid.

message 35: by Jammies (new)

Jammies SisterCyn, I love that song.

message 36: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7089 comments It was my baby brother Nat's favorite song at age 20. Two of his best friends died at age 20, drove drunkenly into a tree downtown. Nat was almost in the back seat but thankfully his girlfriend drove him home. They played "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" at Chad's funeral in the arboretum. I never want to hear it again.
