Should a series go for three books to make it a trilogy or four to make it a quartet? What are your thoughts? Do you prefer giant series or small ones?

Trilogies are okay. When you start talking six or seven it's like -_-

Kal G | 364 comments Mod
Yeah... I'm a big fan of trilogies too.

Cool. It seems like these days there are no stand alone books at all!

Holly | 219 comments for me, it depends on the author. Some books I read and, whether I liked it or not, I don't want a sequel, but one of my favorite series has 6. But trilogies are a good inbetween

Kal G | 364 comments Mod
Yeah, I agree

As long as the author/authors can keep coming up with good ideas, the series can keep going on.

True

message 9: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments If they try to stick with one character for too long it gets boring pretty quick...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

True.

I like it when there's the same cast of characters for a series. I hate it when they change!!! Like in Graceling, it's so annoying!

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ (charlie_awesome) | 356 comments Mod
I like the same character for a long time you get to know them so well. Like in Percy Jackson!

Kal G | 364 comments Mod
I know!

message 14: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments I'm kinda with you on Graveling... I loved all the characters, but I think she switched too fast. And once Riordan got to the Heroes of Olympus series, he started switching around. But I'm not so big on it in a single book... One at a time, please

i actually preper 3 book series, easier to keep up with :)

message 32: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments Even though the Harry Potters had 7:)

message 33: by Meenu (new)

Meenu i know!! HP going on for 7 was good!! that series is awesome!! <3

message 34: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments But yeah, I agree with you in general. Trilogies are good

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. :)

message 36: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments What series do you think should have ended with the first book?

message 37: by Kal G (new)

Kal G | 364 comments Mod
HH, but it still did pretty well in CF and M

message 38: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments I don't know, she left some big cliff hangers at the end of HG. I wish the sequels had been different.

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ (charlie_awesome) | 356 comments Mod
I loved CF And MJ actually, so I'd leave them.

All these Rick riordan books are being fairly dragged out for years and years. Leave the poor characters alone!

message 40: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments really? I love all the Percy Jackson's!

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ (charlie_awesome) | 356 comments Mod
I love them too! But the whole lost hero series....I like it, but it's difficult to keep up with

message 42: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments The multiple POVs are a little annoying, but I loved the new characters

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ (charlie_awesome) | 356 comments Mod
I liked them, but I like Percy more, so it felt lacking to me

message 44: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments Well, sadly, not everyone can be as fan-freaking-tastic as Percy

message 45: by Kal G (new)

Kal G | 364 comments Mod
I actually have never read PJ

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Me neither, but I plan on reading those PJ books eventually. :)

message 47: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments WHAT?! Those are the best books ever!

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

They may be, but I still haven't read them yet.

Holly wrote: "Well, sadly, not everyone can be as fan-freaking-tastic as Percy"

Yup. That's why we should just stick with him.

message 50: by Holly (new)

Holly | 219 comments Where does that leave the rest of us? Unimportant side characters peeking out from behind Grover and Annabeth?
