Lakeland Lakeland question

Lakeland, Boring Or Not?
Carolyn McBride Carolyn Jun 06, 2012 05:35AM
This book is being read by a lot of people in the Waterloo Region, I being one of them. So far, it has mixed reviews. Some have expressed their opinion that reading it is like watching paint dry. For me, it's not like that. It's the perfect book for me to read when I can only snatch a few minutes in the sun, like when I'm bbq'ing and can't leave the grill.
It is the ideal armchair adventurer's book, in my opinion.
But what do you think? Did you find it boring? Why?
Did you find it soothing and relaxing?

I think that this book will really hit home for those who are conscious of the condition of our lakes, or have a deep passion and understanding of the nature that surrounds it.

Those who take pleasure simply in the recreation aspect, and think little of environmental factors will likely find this book boring. I personally didn't start getting into it until about 60 pages in, so I can understand how some would feel that way
