Grissom tells an intense story of life walking the lines between black and white on a Virginian plantation in the early 1800s. In our meeting we discussed some of the more compelling characters and events, but like Lavinia, we likely missed things. What do you think?

For those of you who enjoyed The Kitchen House (which I think was many of us), Kathleen Grissom has just released the follow-up: Glory Over Everything. She's also doing a book tour, so if you do read it and are interested in hearing what she has to say about it, the dates and locations are on her website.

Neat! I remember this book getting really intense through the middle and end. I think I need to do a year of rereads....
