Celia (kilia) I read this book a long time ago so I am guessing its YA .

It takes place medieval like town, I remember that it was quite fortified.

The boy comes to the city to be trained ( I don't remember in what skill).

However, a plague has started to spread in the city.
I believe the boy and the master try to discover where the sickness is coming from/cure it.

I don't remember much else.
If any one has a clue please let me know :)

Thank you but does not seem to be the book :(
In the story, the youth comes to the city where the "master" lives.
However this story seems quite interesting :)

Celia (kilia) Hello,
I have still not found the book sadly.
It is not a book by Tamora Pierce ( I have read all of them) but I do see the resemblance n the description.

Lou Rocama | 432 comments A Plague of Sorcerers: A Magical Mystery? It doesn't quite fit, but I thought I'd throw it out in case.

Michele | 2357 comments What is the nature of the sickness -- fever, madness, boils, they just fall down dead? Were there any magic or fantasy elements, or just a story of medieval plague? When did you read this? At the time you read it was it an older book or a new one? Do you recall how long the book was (thin, medium, doorstop)?
