Alex (prodromoi) | 5 comments Hi,
I've just added a new edition (actually, a very old edition!) of The Holy Terror by H.G. Wells; while I have added unlisted books previously, this was the first time I've added a new edition of a listed book - so I used the "add a new edition" link that's to the right side of the editions page.

However, it added my update as a totally separate book rather than merely as a new edition.

1. Could they please be combined?

2. How can I add further unlisted editions without having to manually make a similar request every time? Rather than continue to add my first editions to the database and do this, I'll hold off until I've got this resolved.

Thanks in advance.
Alex

Alex (prodromoi) | 5 comments Thank you.

Any suggestions on Q2? I've just finished sending an (lengthy!) application for Librarian status, in case that's the answer!

Renske | 10785 comments A new edition will always appear as a separate book and will need to be combined manually, that is how the system works. The only way to not making those requests is becoming a Goodreads librarian yourself, so you can do the combining.

Alex (prodromoi) | 5 comments Thought that might be the case, thanks... I'll wait to hear back from the application before trying to upload the rest of my first editions.
