John Colyer | 1 comments I've been writing for 40 years, 2 books published this year, I've had 4 poems converted to song a few years ago. Poetry has just always been a passion of mine since I learn to read.

Hi John, I'm curious have you had your poetry converted in songs. I've approached people, but have had no success to date. Any info you provide would be greatly appreciated. -Joe

Hi Betty,

I started writing poetry in January 2001; it began with haiku and senryu for a few years; after writing 2500+ of these kind of verses, I wrote more traditional poems, based on my faith. This first one was called "Evening Sky"; here's a link to it:

Here's the background to it:

During a difficult nine-month job search, I wrote 75 original poems; with the new job, I needed to move from one state (CT) to another (NH); selling my home provided me the funds to get published. So I wrote another 25 poems for the manuscript, found a publisher and got the book made in November 2006 by BookSurge; the publisher renamed itself as CreateSpace (and is owned by Amazon.com).

-Joe
