Are you an author(published or not)? Here is a place to discuss your work, get feedback, or just show off your general awesomeness(Not being an author(yet) myself, I can say that. :p

Rachel | 37 comments LOL General awesomeness, eh? I am not sure I can live up to that yet. :)

I am an author.

I currently have four works in print. The Crown of Anavrea by Rachel Rossano The Mercenary's Marriage by Rachel Rossano Exchange by Rachel Rossano Word and Deed by Rachel Rossano

I have a new novel coming out in 2013. Wren Romany is a bounty hunter, tracker, knife-throwing expert, and one tough woman. She seeks shelter for the winter and finds a mismatched bunch of outcasts who need her. The leader is an heir to a disgraced title and an emotionally scarred veteran. He needs more than just someone to help with the chronic food shortage. Wren prods him to take action to fix the whole situation with explosive results.

My current WIP is titled Duty. The heroine is Brielle Solarius, the leader of an isolated village on the eastern border of Rhynan just trying to survive the end of a civil war. Her world is turned upside down when a battalion of soldiers ride into the village one bleak autumn morning. The leader, the newly titled Duke of Irvaine, makes some pretty astounding claims, not the least of which is that she is his wife by proxy marriage. Brielle is faced with the first of many difficult decisions regarding duty and loyalty.

Oh, I disagree, Rachel. You are pretty darn awesome. As a writer, cover designer, and a friend. I think that qualifies you for general awesomeness. ;O)

Pat Hello everyone, I'm a longtime full-time author who's trying to figure out how to make my way around Goodreads. I need to add friends, find readers, and keep in touch with everything exciting.

I'm published by mainstream, educational, and independent houses (that last being our own imprints), and I usually write in collaboration with my husband, Wim Coleman. Our latest book is Mayan Interface, a visionary fiction/thriller to be out in September. We'll do a giveaway soon, but I'll send a paperback advance copy to the first 3 from this group who want to review it. Just let me know and give me a mailing address in the US or Canada.

Your book sounds interesting. I am adding it to my TBR list. I've not read anything like it and I love trying new book styles.

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 30 comments Well, I never mentioned that I'm an author too. These are the ones with my name on them:

Connected Regency romances:
Honor by Jaimey Grant Betrayal by Jaimey Grant Deception by Jaimey Grant Spellbound by Jaimey Grant Heartless by Jaimey Grant Redemption by Jaimey Grant
Heartless is unavailable at the moment, however, as it is undergoing a bit of editing and a cover revamp. There are several more titles in this "series" that will eventually reach publication. More info can be found here:

Short story anthologies in which some of my stories appear. Eliza's Epiphany in Whispered Beginnings is Regency romance; Assassin's Keeper in Unlocked is Regency fiction; Survival in Unlocked is fantasy.
Whispered Beginnings ~ A Clever Fiction Anthology by Linda Boulanger Unlocked by Jaimey Grant
Unlocked can be downloaded for free from

This one is fantasy of a dragon-like nature:
The Dragon's Birth by Jaimey Grant
And I don't know why the cover looks like total crap here. Huh.

I have two serial romances, both Regencies, that I'm writing too:
[image error] [image error]
The 11th Commandment is being written exclusively for InD'Tale Magazine, a romance periodical geared toward the indie crowd. Subscriptions are free.
My Lady Coward started out as one short story and then developed into more. More info can be found here:

I also design book covers. My gallery is at I like that almost as much as writing.

Whew. If anyone wants info on any of the things I've mentioned here, please ask. I may have just worn out my welcome with this post. :OP

I have a question about the connected regency romances. I've only read Honor so far. Which one would you say comes next, or are they not really in any particular order? I'm really looking forward to reading about Bri. :)

message 13: by Jaimey (new)

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 30 comments I have the stories linked in chronological order above. Betrayal is next and that's Bri's story.

Pat Some early readers of Mayan Interface are having fun making comparisons:

"… a Dan Brown novel, only with better writing and better research … thrilling and a page turner."—John J. Walters, co-author of Econversatons

"The Toynbees meet Arthur C. Clark but much more entertaining … Utterly readable and compelling."—Eric Ludwig, PhD

Sherrod Wall (wallflower48) | 1 comments Hey everyone! I'm Sherrod and I currently have one work published: my angel paranormal romance From Heaven to Earth. It will be free Christmas Day and the 26th. Here's what readers have said about this four star novel since its release in March:

"I'm completely floored by this book. This book is among the ranks of page/chapter turner."

"It takes a great author to make characters of the unknown angels, demons, etc. believable and I think the author did a great job..."

"From Heaven to Earth is an incredibly imaginative view of the fall of Heaven, God, and angels, everything those of us brought up Catholic would never have imagined or been allowed to imagine."

"Absolutely loved the images of Heaven that Sherrod created. I loved the levels of angels, I loved the buildings and I loved his description of the Christian God. What he created in my head was stunning."

"I finished it in no time as I couldn't put it down."

"My favorite scenes in this book were the epic battles, and there were several. Mr. Wall has a true gift when writing this type of scene. While reading these battle scenes, I found myself clutching my Kindle, holding my breath and turning pages faster and faster to find out what was going to happen next."

“The main strength of the book is the descriptive voice, the author really does a great job of painting a picture with words and the imagery was great.”

Ages ago, Lucifer gave into love despite God's warnings and procreated with his consort, Annarae: the makings of the first celestial family. God banished pregnant Annarae and the rest of the female angel population to the depths of Hell. There they remain: playthings for the infernal.

Lucifer responded with revolution and found himself cast out as well. Heaven was preserved but not without consequence. God is dying, and Earth is left bereft of His will.

On our god-forsaken world, there is a city in New Mexico: Nuevas Cruces. Known as the enchantment capital of the world, Nuevas Cruces is a city humans share with demons, angels and generations of their half-breeds.

It is there God sends his only hope for survival: a seraph, the guardian of His Sanctuary in Heaven: Drean. Drean is a fearsome warrior but innocent in countenance and naïve of mankind's ways: weaknesses easily exploited by the demons and angels that hunt him in pursuit of nothing less than God's throne.

A novel of epic passion: From Heaven to Earth explores how desire drives angels and demons, how it changes them and how it defines them in a world bereft of God.

War will be fought. Innocence will be shed. Angel's wings will be severed to claim God's empty throne. Whether secured or destroyed, one thing is for sure: Heaven will never be heaven again.

Whether it is passion for romance, violence, duty, dance or just feeling alive; the characters in From Heaven to Earth's universe would rather die than be denied their desires. Will any of them surpass those desires to save their world? Or will a tyrant assume God's role, dooming Heaven and making a hell of Earth?

From Heaven to Earth maintains a four star average on Amazon and a near four star average on Goodreads. These are its last free days. Spread the word and get your free copies!

Charles Cornell (charlesacornell) I've just published DragonFly, the first novel in my Dieselpunk series, Missions of the DragonFly Squadron, and I'm looking for reviewers. DragonFly is a collision of science fiction with fantasy that fast forwards steampunk into an alternative World War Two. It may be unlike anything you have read in the conventional science fiction or fantasy genres.

‘DragonFly – the Illustrated Edition’ is the ultimate DragonFly reading experience, packed with sixty illustrations that make the action jump off the page, including character dossiers, historical ‘retrographs’ and fantastic designs of retro-futuristic aircraft. DragonFly is currently published only in Kindle ebook format.

Link to Amazon: DragonFly (Illustrated)...

My website, also features many of the CG illustrations developed for the novel and has profiles of the main characters.

If you are interested in reviewing DragonFly, I can gift you a fully illustrated Kindle ebook of DragonFly from Amazon.

Regards... Charles

DragonFly (Missions of the DragonFly Squadron #1) by Charles A. Cornell

Synopsis of DragonFly:

A young woman with the fate of a nation in her hands.
An aircraft designed by science, fueled by magic and flown with passion.
A World War re-imagined like never before.

In 1942, an unlikely heroine changes the course of history.

On the eve of invasion by the Nazis, twenty-two year old RAF pilot Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Somerset is determined to overcome every obstacle to become Britain’s first female combat pilot.

When Ronnie is re-assigned to Enysfarne, a mysterious Royal Navy base off the coast of Cornwall, fate places her inside the cockpit of the most revolutionary aircraft ever invented... the DragonFly, a remarkable fighter-bomber that carries the hopes of Britain on its blue and silver wings.

Reichsführer Bernhardt Morax, leader of the Third Reich’s Zauber Korps, prepares his Blutskriegers for the invasion of Britain... bio-mechanical warriors created by a depraved occult science whose dark secrets cross the boundaries of evil.

Will the Druid wizard, Affodill - whose ancestral home of Enysfarne has been expropriated by the Royal Navy - join forces with the British, or will he make a pact with the evil Morax? Can Princess Victoria and Ronnie Somerset convince Affodill to place his magic in the service of a nation that has betrayed his Druid ancestors for centuries?

Simon Campbell Hello again

My novel ‘The Miracle Adjuster’ is now available on and in paperback or ebook for Kindle

Here’s a couple of cherry-picked quotes from the first reviews:

“…a journey through a psychedelic drug induced dream sequence; almost new age Monty Pythonesque”.

“The Miracle Adjuster exists in an Orwellian fantasy world full of off-beat characters, situations and humour. The writing style is excellent; the imagination is fantastic and it’s a very clever novel”.

You can still enter the Goodreads giveaway to win 1 of 20 signed copies at and you can find the first chapter on my Goodreads blog at
