I suppose I should have put this in the 2008 books string, but... I didn't. Most of them are last year's titles, while some are much older. There are, of course, other books that I will read, but these are just for pleasure.

Here are some of the books that I plan to read in the new year.

Water for Elephants – Sara Gruen
Kite Runner – Khaled Hosseini
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
A Mercy – Toni Morrison
Beloved – Toni Morrison
The Orchard Keeper – Cormac McCarthy
Catch 22 – Joseph Heller
The Red Tent – Anita Diamant
Their Eyes Were Watching God – Zora Neale Hurston
The Dante Club – Matthew Pearl (I’m almost finished with this one)
Dance Dance Dance – Haruki Murakami
After Dark – Haruki Murakami
Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman - Haruki Murakami

I just bought 'Water for Elephants' and 'Kite Runner' yesterday. I also picked up a book called 'This I believe' based on the popular radio series on Public Radio International. I suspect I'll read most of these books during my winter vacation, saving the books associated with my career to read during the semester.
