Just finished Miss Peregrines..., The Power of Nine, and finishing up Insurgent. Need some suggestions on what to read next. I'm waiting on a couple books to come through from the library.

Oh yeah, it's one of my favourites :)
I'm not big into faerie books but I got hooked on this series from book one lol
Dances around. I got it! Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling! Wheeee I am so excited. Sorry, didn't mean to gloat. My friends don't understand the joy of getting a new release on the day it's released.

Is the power of nine good? i read the other ones and liked them, but my friend told me that this one was gonna be the worst.
I finished
by Laura Bickle, which I really liked. It's a YA apocalyptic horror/suspense featuring an amish heroine and dangerous killer vampires. Sounds like an odd mix but it totally worked! I'm now reading
by Richard Kadrey and
by Carrie Lofty.

I say go for it! :)
The Yiddish Policeman's Union. I love it! My favorite line, that stopped me and made me laugh out loud was, "Landsman picked up the shot glass he was currently dating." Chabon! Brilliant:)

Ooh, I haven't read The Stand yet. I've heard it's one of the all-time best postapocalyptic novels. Do you agree? Should I read it??

I've heard great things about The Stand; you might also like The Dog Stars by Peter Heller, another take on a post-apocalyptic world. Well written, great characters, and fraught with tension.
I am currently reading John Dies at the End. It's not my typical genre, as it's super juvenile in humor; but, so far, it's been fantastically entertaining. I guess there's a teenage boy deep inside me somewhere, and this book feeds his every need. Ha.
I read the Many Lives of Avery Snow yesterday. For a first novel it was very good. What I didn't like: I felt the characters were lacking depth, the writing style was a bit simplistic for my taste, all the grammatical errors were frustrating. What I did like: the characters were interesting, the story was very creative, when things became complicated it was still easy to understand, everything came together nicely at the end.I am very interested to read the 2nd book when it is released. I am excited to see what happens and to see how the author has grown as a writer. I would recommend this book.
