http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos... Autumn is bottoming out in the great below while working as a call girl who accompanies lonely customers and entertains married men. Her self-imposed black dress code and colour spectrum of wigs contrasts her optimistic taupe cardigan friend, April, and prescription meds addict, Valerie Valley, who debate their tao whether hope is a hoax if God is dead. Every day bleeds into tomorrow as her next client is another man further down Darwin's evolutionary chart, until she meets Dylan, a stalky client who cuts above the rest and shows her the young sexy stupid secrets of a very strange new world.

I'm reading Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. So far it is a really good book. It keeps your interest from the start.
I'm currently reading the Riyria Revelations for my dissertation about fantasy lit and Spanish literature in the Renaissance. Theft of Swords is the first. They're good reads for anyone 17+!
So I'm Reading a game of thrones which is really good but has lots of information to swallow... Yet a wonderful fantastorical!
Currently rereading Leo Tolstoy's "The Death of Ivan Illyich." lol I was not expecting such a small book to be so /heavy/. I plan on following up with a (hopefully) much lighter read - Vanessa Diffenbaugh's "The Language of Flowers."

and was about going crazy! Not bad story but the mane character was sooo much annoying...
I'm currently reading Persuasion by Jane Austen and then will move to Mansfield Park and have to finish Vlad Dracula, also how do you do those cool images of the books?

I've been stuck with On the Road for some time but couldn't finish it. So I decided to leave it there and move on with The Vampire Lestat and it was like the best decision I've made recently. Also I started The Boy in the Striped Pajamas yesterday and it's a little book so I think I can finish it today or tomorrow.

Think I'm gonna like this..."I have the sequel to it,
but I just can not get into no matter how much I try

Also ..."You are going to enjoy The Boy in the Stryped Pajamas (that's how my cover reads). It's a thought provoker. And you can never go wrong with old school Vampire Chronicles. Have you read her Mayfair Witch Trilogy?
Khairiya wrote: "So I'm Reading a game of thrones which is really good but has lots of information to swallow... Yet a wonderful fantastorical!"I bought it for my Nook as a 4 book bundle. I read Game of Thrones and immediately started on Clash of Kings. I only made it halfway before I had to take a break. Great stories but like you said, information overload. I'd recommend a slight break between the books but definitely read them all. I was trying to get "caught up" before season 2 stared on HBO. I didn't make it but I noticed that I made it far enough to only put off the last 4 episodes. :)

I told the friend that recommended the books that I was really hating the heroine during the 2nd book. They were not well written but still managed to suck you in. You had to stick with it for the character's sake and just see them through this.
I just finished Book 1 and 2 of the John Cleaver trilogy:
,
. I loved them both. Now I'm starting the final book:
.
i just finished little women by louisa may alcott. Now m starting with love you more by lisa gardner
Davi wrote: "Rachel: I mostly read mystery/crime thrillers and love it when they're told from the police officers' points of view, but I occasionally enjoy seeing the other side of things. Would you recommend the John Cleaver trilogy?"Hey Davi.:) Yes, I would recommend the trilogy but with a few caveats: I think you will like these books if you like books with paranormal/supernatural elements and if you like psychological thrillers. The books are told from John Cleavers first person POV, which is brilliantly done by the author, and they are very dark. There is definitely suspense and some action but we are in John's head quite a bit - the books (especially Book 1) focuses heavily on his psychopathy, which again is brilliantly done by the author. The books are superbly written, the characterizations are wonderful, and I thought the pacing of the suspense was great.
So, I hope this helps. :)
I'm reading American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor CompanyEven though it's about Ford motor company, it reads like a thriller! I actually had a hard time putting down the book through the first 100 pages bc Ford was in such a tailspin. Just got down with Mulally's leadership change in Ford, getting billions of dollars in loans, and convincing the Ford family to stay behind Mulally during a tough time of not getting dividend checks. Now I'm at the part where they need to re-negotiate the UAW contract ....
I dont usually read books like this but this one reads really well!
I am currently reading 'the secret life of bees', 'the Bourne identify ', and trying to finish 'the count of Monte cristo '. I know alot. I have a break from work so I'm trying to read as many as possible.
Currently, I have several books I am "reading"...two are ARCs and one is my actual book that I am reading. The actual one is Downpour but the ARCs are The City's Son by Tom Pollock and The Diviners by Libba Bray.
The walking Dead by Robert Kirk man and State of Decay-James Knapp-Existentialism and education-George Kneller
I am currently reading The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. I recently started reading his books and love them. Don't even know why I picked the first one up because it's not the kind of book I usually read but I must say I enjoy his writing.
I'm currently reading Confessor by Terry Goodkind. It's number 11, and the final book, in a series that I have been working on for going on 4 years now. I'm so excited to finally know how this whole thing is going to end.

Janie, what did you think of The Unseen series? I placed it on my TBR recently and am planning to pick it up.

I just have not gotten around to it yet. But plan to in the future.
Janie, what did you think of The Unseen series? I placed it on my TBR recently and am planning to pick it up.Rachel I loved them both. She is a great writer. I loved how she "slowly" worked her way to the climax of a scary scenario. It literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat. And I had to fight hard to not skip down a few lines to see what was gonna happen. Definitley worth picking up.
@ Janie: Thanks so much! It's sounds great and I'm looking forward to checking it out. :) @ Martha: I love the writing style - I really love when authors take chances like that. I was intrigued & hooked from page 1.
@ Janie: Thanks so much! It's sounds great and I'm looking forward to checking it out. No problem Rachel. I was indeed pleasantly surprised by the series. I picked them up at our local 'used' book store, and thought I would give them a try. Glad I did.
I am reading several as well. I am reading Divergent, The Stand, and just started After She Woke. I do not know why, but goodreads is not letting me link, just keeps taking me to the top of the page...
I judged started reading
It's eh thus far. It's written in two POV, which I don't like personally. The characters are a bit annoying instead of being ones I would feel for.
Faize wrote: "I tried reading It, but I stopped. No, not because I thought it was bad. I was actually really sucked into the book; but I got a used copy and there were pages ripped out!! MY. WORST. NIGHTMARE.T..."
I kind of really abused a book once in one of the worst ways possible. Once I got really bored and felt like setting something on fire. So, I grabbed I Am Number Four and me and my cousin started a fire. We both ripped out pages then read them and used them as kindling to burn the rest of the book. We were listening to the song the Phantom of the Opera while doing this. My frien who loves the book got very slappy on me when she found out.
