Lynn I don't usually read multiple books by one author but I do really enjoy the writings of:

Garrison Keillor
A.J. Jacobs
Beverly Cleary
Jonathan Safran Foer

edit: omg I know this was forever ago.. but I can't believe I didn't include Kurt Vonnegut Jr.!! or Sherman Alexie!!

message 5: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) I'm all about C.S. Lewis, and I'm in love with Andrew Schwab! Mark Twain and Charles Dickens are some of my other favs. I also enjoy the way the author of History of Love writes.

message 6: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Caiti, After taking a miserable (because I worked my butt off and only got a B) course on Mark Twain last semester, I don't think I'll be able to read him again for a long time. It started dawning on me at the end of the semester that maybe I don't understand his sense of humor because a lot of his stuff didn't seem funny to me and the professor was about to bust a gut laughing.

I think Harper Lee, Margaret Mitchell, and Joseph Heller are my favorite authors. I'm also kind of liking Sylvia Plath, having started her journals. (Eek!)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) I love the wide range of favorite authors we all have.

message 10: by Janet (new)

Janet I don't really have any favorite authors. I just read whatever but I will say, I ALWAYS read Nicholas Sparks. He is my all time favorite.

message 12: by Justine (new)

Justine (paperbackheart) I haven't. I've never even heard of it. But now my mission is to find it and read it. I'll get back to you.

message 13: by Justine (new)

Justine (paperbackheart) Okay, here's the deal Emily. It's out of print. You can buy it, but it's all upwards of 300$ on amazon. My experience is that if you read one of his books and get hooked you are instantly a die-hard fan and I think that's why you can't ever hold on to it.

message 35: by Natanya (last edited Feb 17, 2011 08:54PM) (new)

Natanya (vraisemble) | 255 comments Margaret Atwood (who's coming to my school in a month and I'M SO EXCITED!!)
J.M. Coetzee
Haruki Murakami
Nicole Krauss
Jonathan Safran Foer

I also used to adore Meg Cabot, particularly her Mediator series. I read a lot of random books, so I unfortunately don't get the chance to read a lot of one specific author's books...for example, though I practically idolize Margaret Atwood, I've only actually read 4 of her books, two of which are her most recent, which are more like "popular fiction" than her earlier works.
