Some AEIOUs from my shelves:*Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart - Sarah MacLean
*June - Lori Copeland
*Ruth - Lori Copeland
*The Princess and the Hound - Mette Ivie Harrison
*The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin
AEIOU that I foundI Am Forbidden: A Novel - Anouk Markovits (unfortunately, I'm already half-way though it by the time I realized...lol!)
I found more AEIOU than I expected on my TBR, if anyone is looking. Now I just have to pick which to use for this! I looooove this time of year for this very reason -- nothing better than filling out spreadsheets!!Insurgent by Veronica Roth (sequel to Divergent)
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green
Night Soldiers - Alan Furst (actually, since he has the more-elusive U in his name, a number of his books work)
When the Emperor Was Divine - Julie Otsuka
i love that, the elusive U...although I found many with that, and then would be missing an A or an E...lol!
Dee wrote: "i love that, the elusive U...although I found many with that, and then would be missing an A or an E...lol!"Exactly!! I had the most luck with the longest titles on my TBR, but not even all of those worked! ;)
i actually found one for another group's challenge that fits - Wicked Eddies - Beth Groundwater (EI in the title, OUA in the author)
If you like science fiction, I found two authors that have all five vowels in their names so you could read anything by them.Lois McMaster Bujold
Daniel F. Galouye
I was surprised by the number I found in mine (I'm pretty sure I found them all)Blue Diablo
Children of Scarabaeus
Summer at Seaside Cove
The Diva Runs Out of Thyme -- and it has a Y!
Another One Bites the Dust
I found a ton in my lists... easiest way to look was to put in "a e i o u" (make sure you have the spaces between each letter) in the search box in the my books and it brings up everything you have with all those letters in it. :) The only thing you have to be careful for is that it will also include the series title. Some of mine (I had 55 pages):
Susannah's Garden by Debbie Macomber
Wither by Lauren DeStefano
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife: Pride and Prejudice Continues
Thriller: Stories To Keep You Up All Night
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Wish You Well by David Baldacci
Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
Secrets of a Summer Night
Bleak House by Charles Dickens
The Iron Daughter
Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead
A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan
Fade Out by Rachel Caine
Charmed and Dangerous: The Rise of the Pretty Committee
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
Breakthrough! by Jon Queijo
The Naughty List by Jodi Redford
Claimed by Lauren Barnholdt
I found another one. :) I forgot I was filtering the books in my database (office vs. basement). I was looking for a book starting with a "Y". This is another title with AEIOU and Y (without using the author's name):Yours for the Taking
If GR adds "A Novel" to the title, do the A, O and E in that addition count? For example: Picture This: A Novel, by Jacqueline Sheehan.
The GR librarian rule is that "A Novel" should not be added as a subtitle so librarians are likely to delete it when they see it.ETA: But since Dlmrose says it counts, I guess you should read it fast :-)
Can I pick My Louisiana Sky for the second option? Or is that considered a children's novel and won't work for a 30 pt task?-edit: Forget that I asked ... needs to begin with Y ... stupid me :(.
For the second option, when you use the book title, does it have to start with a "y" or does something like Anything for You work because it has a word (you) starting with a "y"?
