Maranda quintessential amis, including his harebrained attempts at rendering the underbelly, whom he has little an ear for, and who come off as caricaturs. but when he hits the hard stuff -- esp. writers and jealousy, he's so on the mark it hurts. also, his insights, when they aren't psuedo- are dazzling.

Lobstergirl I'm not crazy about this so far.

Ian I liked The Information a lot, there are some amazing passages in it, but like London Fields it left me with the feeling that some aggressive editing would have taken it from a good to a great read.
