Kirk Douglas? He has a great filmography but a little light on the sci-fi don't you think?

The robot is less scary than Harvey Keitel.
My cats: Martin and Mattimeo (both from the Redwall series)Sister's dogs: Strider (duh) and Helo (BSG)
Sister's cat: Sirius Black (appropriate, since he acts like he just escaped from Azkaban)
Stan wrote: "Ahhhhh that brings back memories. Kirk Douglas and Farah Fawcet In Saturn 3"And now I have a new movie to watch this weekend. Kirk Douglas. Farah Fawcett. And Harvey Keitel? Sounds like a winner to me. And the fact that you named your son after him must mean this movie is one of the greats!
My son named our cat Leela after his favorite Futurama character. I named our latest cat after my own WoW toon .. Does that one count??
My cat's name is Ender, and he consistently spends his time wiping out an alien race of catnip mice.I call him Andrew Wiggin when I'm mad at him.

Better than looking at a wrinkly newborn and deciding to call him Worf I guess :)
Don't know if it counts, really, but we have a ferret named Loki. He is the God of Mischief in our home.
Our two Kitties are named Arya and Ned. We full name them when introducing them to people (people get quite confused when we say Ser Eddies Stark and go through his full title) but it's all in fun :-)
Had a beagle in college that my dad named Tribbles. My good friend named her little girl Serenity Willow. I finally got up the nerve to ask her & before I could finish the question she said, I call her my little Firefly..."
My dog is Barclay, for Lt. Reginald Barclay from STNG (and subsequent ST franchises). I felt he needed a rank, lol.
I don't know if anyone has said this and I don't feel like reading all the posts but how aboutDovahkiin from SKYRIM Elder Scrolls the fifth
Just heard about this thread on the video show. My cat's name is Fitz, after Fitz from the Farseer trilogy. He was found abandoned on the side of the road, and definitely has royal blood.
One of my dogs is named Xena, the Warrior Bitch. Since she is 15 and still kicking, she's clearly tough as Lucy Lawless. Not as cool a name is the other dog, named Tico by my children, after one of the characters on Dora the Explorer.
One of my cats is a male furry grey ragdoll mix formally named Bombadil but he goes by Dilly for short. The other is a female solid black siamese mix--the boyfriend wanted to name her Ed Poe in honor of "The Black Cat" but I didn't think it sounded feminine enough so we went with E.D. = Edie.
Lastly, my boyfriend once had a male ginger tabby named Clovis named after a character in a Saki story. Best cat name ever!
Looks like Khaleesi might be getting a brother. I captured with help from a local pet group volunteer a feral kitten that was about six weeks old and has two huge soars on its side. He's spending the night at the vet and hopefully they can keep the infection from going systemic. If he makes it through then I'll most likely adopt him.Say hello to Tyrion. I hope he makes it.

For those wondering how Khaleesi is doing:

Aw, I hope he makes it through okay.Just read through all this thread, and now I wanna get a bunch of pets just to give them silly names. Nothing wrong with that motivation, right? ;P
Our cat is called Fitz after Hobb's Assassins apprentice. He is very sly, and brings home snakes and rats - he even brought home a rabbit one. It was a baby rabbit I admit. But I was impressed.
Media is a great place to get pet and I guess children's names.I had a Lab named Oscar who was named after Oscar Wilde. Oddly enough he seemed to enjoy the company of our other boy lab Hershey. My parent's new lab is named Grundy but I believe that is a family name and not named for someone from Batman's rogues gallery.
When I was younger we had a hamster named Taz and hermit crabs named for the members of the Simpson's family,OJ was my favorite. A cat named Chester after the cat from the Bunnicula books. I also had Priscilla, Queen of the litter box.
This trend seems to have passed to my sister's family and she has a cat (named by my nieces) Batman: Bruce Wayne pickle pants.
One of our cats we had when I was growing up was named Gremlin and I had a hamster named Homer after the Simpsons.
I had a dog named Isaac after Isaac Asimov and my kids named our current cats Tor and Evee after some pokemons. I also named another cat Pixel after The Cat Who Walked Through Walls by Heinlein.
My cat is named Arya. It's the first time I name a pet after a fictional character. I think the name suits my cat very well. Also I read in an interview that GRRM has a cat named Asha.
Before we were married, I gave my wife a kitten, and she named him Ollivander. After we got married and moved to a new home, we took in a stray and I named her Gregorovitch. I have faith that many of you can see the link between these two names.
Tim A wrote: "Back when I kept fish, I had some angels. They were called Destiny, Harmony, Rhapsody, Symphony and Melody, from Captain Scarlet, and Angel One and Angel Two, from Earthsearch."Captain Scarlet! Those particular marionettes had slipped right off my mind. Thanks for the reminder (I think). Great theme song -- always thought They Might Be Giants should cover it.
I currently have one cat named Snug, after a character in A Midsummer Night's Dream. I lost one kitty :( last year named Linon - she was named after a mechanical bird in a Guy Gavriel Kay novel. And to turn things around, my other cat, Karma, has ended up as a character in my novel, Zeus, Inc.
Jonesy is the name of a friend's cat, after the one from Alien. My rescue dog and I went through 30 names until she perked up at Sapphire, which is a flavor of Pokemon game. That kinda counts.
My Cats:
I have P.K. - who once was a Precious Kitty till I got her and is now a Farscape reference.
Gwen is a Torchwood fan.
Aggie is named after a part of town where the college kids go to drink here in Kansas.
Lucy was named after the character in Stoker's Dracula, but we had to add Fur to her name because of how mean she was. She is now known as Nibbles and lives a block away with a couple who took her in.
Streaky was named after Supergirl's cat. He got a forever home and isn't with us anyore.
And then there is Missy, who is not a fan of Sword, Laser, me, or catboxes.
