What is or are your favorite James Patterson book(s)? I know we have a few avid Alex Cross readers and a few avid Women's Murder Club readers and even a few who have read several books in each series...have any favorites? I know with a series it is sometimes hard to pick a favorite but each book is unique with a new bad guy and storyline.

I am one of those avid Women's Murder Club readers (plan to start on the Cross series soon) and so far I love all of the books but I would say my favorite is First to Die. I loved how vulnerable Lindsay could be and yet how very capable and strong she could be at the same time. Plus I loved Chris. And the bride and groom murders made for an interesting plot.

How about you?

Brooke So far my favorite is Cradle and All. That might change when I read more of his books.

Melissa (emjay09) | 4 comments I've read quite a few, some from the Alex Cross series and some from the Women's Murder Club, and I have to say I like 1st to die the most so far.

message 4: by Doina (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:12PM) (new)

Doina | 2 comments I like both series. The main characters are so different, but they still draw you in. I am leaning more towards the Women's Murder Club, just because I have read most of the books in that series, and I just started the Alex Cross series.

Mandy Ooh, I've read all except maybe two of his books and it is really hard to pick a favourite. I did like The Quickie, one of his newer ones, but it's been so long since I read the older ones, I try to read in order, that it's quite possible a favourite is back there that I'm forgetting.

Kat (A Journey In Reading) (ajourneyinreading) I love James Patterson. I have all but one of the Alex Cross books, but I think my favorite book of his is The Lake House.

Stephanie Chmielecki (stephc83) | 2 comments I haven't read a patterson book that I didn't like but I think by far the best patterson book is STEP ON A CRACK. It played with all my emotions (I laughed, I was afraid to turn page and I cried) It was a book I couldn't put it down. I hope that he writes more with that series.

I recommend that every patterson fan reads this book

message 8: by Sheri (new)

Sheri | 1 comments I am a new James Patterson fan and I have been reading both the Women's Murder Club and Alex Cross books in order. I just finished Cat & Mouse and I think, so far, that this one is my favorite! There were so many unexpected twists and turns that I couldn't put the book down!

message 9: by Summer (new)

Summer (summerbp) I loved Kiss the Girls, and I think it's one of the best book-to-movie transitions I've seen. However, I also really liked 1st to Die. The bride and groom murders were the most interesting case in the WMC series so far.

Cradle and All was interesting, but weird! And it freaked me out, too...

message 10: by Linda (new)

Linda Mallet (lmallet) There are only a few of his books i haven't read.
These are my favorites.

Cross-"Kiss The Girls"
WMC-"1st To Die"
other-"The Midnight Club"

Shasta | 3 comments I just finished The Midnight Club last week I thought it was great...a very intense book, I think you will enjoy it very much!!!

message 12: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 4 comments I just finished reading You've Been Warned and Step on a Crack. Both were really good. I just started Mary Mary today. I want to jump back into the Women's Murder Club. Kind of read them a little out of order, but I really liked those as well. Haven't read a book of his yet that I didn't like.

message 13: by Brandi (new)

Brandi (brandikoppelman) | 2 comments I love the Women's Murder Club series. I am about to read #7 and then hopefully start reading the Alex Cross series. I love how all of them are great page turners. I think I read the 1st 5 in a month!

message 14: by Alison (new)

Alison I just finished You've Been Warned last night and loved it. Have read all of WMC but none of the Cross series (that's next).

Ashley (bookworm84) (bookworm84) I am an avid Alex Cross reader. It was the first series I dived into when I discovered Patterson but I also like his Murder club books as well....but I just don't get the same feeling of anticipation for a new murder club book that I do in November prior to a Cross release.

Kiss the Girls has to be my favourite. It freaked me right out lol.

message 16: by Tumani (new)

Tumani | 3 comments I am hooked on Alex Cross. I have read everything. I read one Murder club book, but it didn't grab my interest. Lately I have been reading Michael Palmer - he is very good. I'll continue with Palmer until Patterson's next Alex Cross hits the market.

Kiss the Girls is the best. In fact, I am re-reading it along with Michael Palmer's "Silent Treatment." It started in college, but I have continued to read two or three books at the same time.

message 17: by Karen (new)

Karen (kec725) | 1 comments I think Kiss the Girls is my favorite thus far. I did also like Jack and Jill. I couldn't really get into the WMC series.

message 18: by Mason (new)

Mason (mweatherly) I'm one of those avid Alex Cross readers. I have read all the books in the series except the newest one - Double Cross. I liked all of the books and how the characters grow with each new book.

I have also read all of the Women's Murder Club books except 7th Heaven. I like the series, but I like Alex Cross better.

I have also read some of his other books and have liked them all.

If I had to pick a favorite book, I would have to say When The Wind Blows followed by The Lake House. I really enjoyed those books.

message 19: by Joe (new)

Joe Golden | 19 comments Mason,I was about to read the 6th Target. Is it better than the 5th Horseman?Because if not I'd just as soon skip it.

message 20: by Susan (new)

Susan | 10 comments Kiss the Girls was always my favorite but now I think Roses are Red and Violets are Blue both run a close second. Those two books were FANTASTIC.

message 21: by Mason (new)

Mason (mweatherly) Joe, I was wrong I haven't read 6th Target yet. I was thinking that was the newest one. I was confused. Sorry. I'm sure it is good.

message 22: by Joe (new)

Joe Golden | 19 comments Thanks Mason.Has anyone read The6th target.I diden't mean to leave you ladies out I just thought A man read a series for women.Alex Cross Rules to me.His stand alones are good to great Linsey boxers good but that ranks 3ed with me.

message 23: by Heather (new)

Heather | 1 comments I have read almost all of his books and I love the Alex Cross series as well as WMC. Some of my all time favs though are:
The Honeymoon
Lifeguard
The Midnight Club

If you haven't read any of those, I highly recommend them!!

message 24: by Joe (new)

Joe Golden | 19 comments I'm still trying to find a review of the 6th Target.Someone I know said it was bad,but I know this lady's book taste and she was just reading out of her genre. So I need a true Patterson fan who likes the WMC to let me know.

message 25: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Watson I read it; much like the others. I loved Patterson when I first started reading him, but now I'm tired of him. True to my OCD, I will finish Alex Cross and WMC series then I'm done with him. It's all the same.

Ashley (bookworm84) (bookworm84) 6th Target is a good book. If you like the other books in WMC, you will like this one as well.

message 27: by Joe (new)

Joe Golden | 19 comments Thank you Meredith and Ashley.I think I'll give it a shot.Thanks.
Joe

message 28: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (ckd518) | 4 comments Hi. I'm new to this group. I love JP and have read almost all the Alex Cross books (have to read the new ones) and all the Women's Murder Club books. I would have to say that my favorite books are Kiss the Girls and Honeymoon (which is from neither of those series).

message 29: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy I have a few Alex Cross books but I havent read any of them yet. I've read all of the WMC series and I have to say my favorite would have to be "1st to Die".

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments I think Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider are the absolute best ones. I did also like Sail and every other Alex Cross book. Out of the women's murder club I like the first one, but thought the ending was way over the top. I liked 3rd or 4th one the best, the one where she was on trial. Nice change of perspective.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

I've read Sail, Honeymoon, When the Wind Blows, and now on Along came a Spider. I'd have to say When the Wind Blows is my fave only because it is such an incredibly unique story. Intrique, adventure, mystery, romance, you name it. It is just so different among many of millions of adventure/thriller books out there.

Invitation for discussion on Along Came a Spider:
click my avatar, my "read" list, and the book, and "view" at the way right of my review bar.
There were a few questions and loose ends, but I
enjoyed it a lot! Annette
