Combining Emerson

I have a question about the combine page for Emerson's works.

I added the ebook edition of Divine School Address because there only was the audio book. Anyways, when I went to the combine page I see that there is a huge amount of his works that are not combined. Some of this are like that for obvious reasons (volumes and special editions), but others have the same name but are separate. For example I counted 7 individual entries (one a group, the rest individual books) called Emerson's essays in various formats; also, there is 'English Traits' all over the place.

I wanted to ask before I did anything. Is it ok if I combine those works that have the exact same title with one another, like the examples I mentioned above and others that are there?

Generally yes, it's okay to combine works with the exact same titles. Encouraged, even.

Still, some of these books might have slightly different contents and there's no way for us to know without having the books in our hands, unless a librarian knows and posts a comment such as "do not combine with blah blah, has two extra essays."

Occasionally page numbers can be a guide to guessing if two titles are the same title, but even there, there's a wide variety. One edition could be 250 pages and the identical book but with bigger typeface and an index could be 400.
