I am trying to decide which of my many tbr books I will read after I finish my current one. I am have to read "In the Time of Butterflies" for a bookclub in a couple of weeks but I may try to squeeze another book in before that.

Julianne | 7 comments I am currently reading Peony in Love by Lisa See. I really enjoyed her other book, Snow Flower & The Secret Fan. Next on my list is the new book by Alice Sebold. I don't even know the name...but I know I want to read it as I really enjoyed The Lovely Bones and Lucky.

Dina | 21 comments I am currently trying to get through a biography about Teddy Roosevelt. It's not about his presidency, but about his adventures after his defeat to get re-elected president.

Next up will be something given to me as a Christmas gift I'm sure. I've asked for Water for Elephants, the new Patricia Cornwell book and anything from Kathy Reichs.

As things stand now, my next book up is at long last...
In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez

after that, I plan on reading:
Drown by Junot Diaz
Where I'm Calling From by Raymond Carver
The Little Friend by Donna Tartt
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

Ellie Malloy | 2 comments Next up for me, I think is "The Devil in the White City" ... looks great but I think I need to be in a historical mood.

Dina | 21 comments Has anyone heard of or read "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly"? Today on cnn.com there is an article on a kid who had a brain stem stroke and is "trapped in his brain". The guy who wrote the book also had this and he wrote a book using 1 eye to communicate spelling the words to the editor! It caught my eye. The reviews seem good in that it's not a tear jerker or feel-sad for me book, but kind of funny and about his life before.

Clare | 21 comments I am loving books by James Lee Burke right now. I am reading two and just finished one. I don't know how I got this far in life without having ever picked up one of his books. For a glimpse of the underside of life in New Orleans with quirky, interesting characters, these books are the best.

I am currently trudging through "The Little Friend" by Donna Tartt and will hopefully finish it up this weekend. Then, it is onto something much more light-hearted: "Goddess for Hire" by Sonia Singh.
