7. Have you ever known a social outcast like Remy? Did this person make you uncomfortable? Did you befriend them?

Margaret Chind I was definitely a gothic/punk/freak/nerd in high school. They were the nice people. That's just the way it was for me.

Amy Yes, no, yes. One of the traits I learned from my dad was befriending those that didn't have friends. But by doing that, I, too, ended up in the outcast crowd (where I found my husband). It took me a while, but I found I didn't need popular or sporty friends, because I was trying to be something I wasn't. I was me. Who was me? I had no clue. But I knew what I was not. The sporty, brainy, popular people make me uncomfortable. So I can agree with Remy saying she couldn't just come live with Copper. They would pity her. She wouldn't fit in. And we need to make our own way, with whatever provisions we have been given, because it is OUR way, not someone else's.
