You probably already have a note about this but I'd love a brief discussion about dominant/aggressive male characters in Vaginal Fantasy and especially in fantasy involving shape-shifters or werewolves where it seems to be more prominent. There was a lot of discussion about this in the forums spurred by this pick :)
How do you all feel about that part in the middle where Rina asked a question and Lucas shot her down with dominance and sexual harassment? Also, wasn't Sascha's reaction there more than a bit telling to the others in the room? It was very "emotional" of her to be upset by their treatment of Rina. And then Lucas dismissed it all by saying "it wasn't about her sexuality at all."
Did you find it was odd that the Psy's eliminated emotion but still had ambition (like in the case of Nikita)?
When Sasha had her little mental breakdown and ended up in the other packs territory do you think that said breakdown had anything to do with her mother? Nikita did have the power to give people mental virus's...part of me finds it hard to believe that she knew nothing of her daughters "issues". Or do you all believe her mother truly wanted to believe her daughter was not flawed because of her own pride?
How about the 'dangers of romance'? Maya Rodale has a great vid on her thesis? that she published. www.dangerousbooksforgirls.com

Nikita did have the power to give people me..."I found myself wondering about that...whether or not Nikita had a hand in Sascha's breakdown. The main thing arguing against it is that if Sascha hadn't headed out into Changeling territory, and had had the breakdown while still in the Psy building, and had been discovered, it would have reflected badly on the family as a whole, and I dont' think Nikita would want the smudge on the family name that would be.
I also wonder if Nikita's virus-giving ability doesn't stem from some form of E-psy capability. The virus she gives people isn't ever well defined, and she could well "infect" them by doing something with E-psy abilities that gives the victim emotions...or unlocks the emotions they've been trained to keep buried. Most psy would view that sort of "emotional outbreak" as a sickness. Nikita must have inherited the E-psy genes to pass them along to Sascha, but they maybe just didn't manifest as strongly, or in the same way, in Nikita.

Which I guess is abnormal for them. It made me wonder if she had been messing with Sasha's head for a long time.
I guess I just felt like they could have taken it farther when it came to Nikita's powers but overall I guess her pride got in the way.
Actually later in the series kit is treated stricter because he is a potential alpha he is treated with more rules and harsher punishments and not because he is male but because he smells of alpha.
It's weird because the thing that bothered me about Rina was not about the punishment it was about the sexist comments. So it's a bit different. I understand her getting punished because of her rank but the verbalization was very sexist and not really something that was repeated with the male characters.

But I do agree that it was sexist as to being 'very' sexist i am not so sure.
In the pack when a male steps out of line they don't blame it on his hormones (unless it has something to do with mating)... And then think up different ways to cut him down that all pertain to his sex. It was like a line of insults just rocketed off in succession that all pertained to her sex.

Unless I was reading it wrong (which I could have been!).

But you are right as far as the first book goes Lucas was out of line and very sexist in that scene. Although I do not think it was because he is sexist but impulsive and rather than thinking on what Rena said he just wanted to go for below the belt, not excusing his actions if anything it makes it worse

About to watch the Hangout on YouTubehttp://t.co/iE4Ll7UX

The glazed-over gentleman in front of his bunk bed was my favorite, hands-down.
"kissing everyone in the pack" is something wolves do ( i'm not sure about felines) and it's a way to show respect to the pack leader and those ranked above the one doing the gesture. I saw it on animal planet. But it was more like caressing the sides of the head
I think the Alien Huntress series by Gena Showalter is good vaginal scifi for Felicia, don't know if its germaphobe approved. :) first book is "Awaken Me Darkly"
Although, when you think about it, if he did something she didn't like she could squirt him with water from a spray bottle. Cats hate that.

Felicia will post a link to the live hangout around 8pm PST here on her G+:
