Kirk | 154 comments Having busted not one but two students today for plagiarizing from Wankapedia, I'm fascinated by how absolutely uninteresting they can make any subject sound.

E.g.:

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_Girls_...
(Why didn't I recognize Hervé Roy's "Lovers Theme"in the background. Damn!)

2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dried_na...

3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_sa...

4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_M...

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments I thought about posting something the other day about 2 girls/1 cup on whatever thread that was where we were talking about fetishes.

(Johnny Mathis is uninteresting anyway, Kirk.)

message 3: by Cyril (new)

Cyril So, these are the topics you assign to your students?

message 4: by Matt (new)

Matt | 819 comments Still kind of boring and clinical, but edifying none the less...

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments You know, I'm glad my students don't have to do that many research papers, because I'd want to slap them silly if I busted them for plagarism, Kirk.

I sometimes think when people write wikipedia entries they take on a pseudo-scholarly tone of voice that can be called "wikipedespeak."

Not long ago I had a student who lost her class notes and looked up a concept on wikipedia. I was confused as hell when she turned in her paper because the materials was all....wrong...so I asked her about it. She said, "That's what you get when you google Marzano factors."

I can't believe the dumbass admitted her research was so shoddy.

I saw "Fuck", Tadpole! It was pretty good.

message 6: by Kirk (new)

Kirk | 154 comments Cyril: Um, that would be no.

Tadpole: That's a funny list. I just wonder what kind of nerd sits through all those movies counting the effers. Then again, having known some wikipediers, I can picture them pretty well.

message 7: by Matt (last edited Dec 08, 2008 06:33AM) (new)

Matt | 819 comments Yes, I was wondering about the counters as well...

RA: Now I want to see that movie too! The description sounded somewhat like "The Aristocrats".

message 8: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments Fuck is my favorite word. I have to see that movie.

message 9: by Kim (new)

Kim (kmdoubleday) Kirk, I bet the FBI would love to get a hold of your hard drive.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17338 comments Mod
When somebody alerted us that you could click on a picture that Kork had posted to see his entire photobucket album I of course did so immediately.

Right after that someone happened to look over my shoulder. Their gaze then shifted to me, and with a sad shake of their head I knew they were thinking "what a sad, sorry, sick lady. Someone should get her medicated and away from society."

message 11: by Kirk (new)

Kirk | 154 comments Oh, Kim: the jokes I could make on that hard drive business. But I'll refrain because my back hurts.

Be sure that I realized the world had access to my Photobucket portfolio, Sally, a lot of pictures were immeeediately deleted.

message 12: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Mindy -- have you ever been here?

message 13: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments Holy FUCK! I had no idea!

:)

message 14: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (ghostinmarble) I saw "Fuck", Tadpole! It was pretty good.

I watched this last night! It was fucking grand.

message 15: by Matt (new)

Matt | 819 comments Nice one, Larry! I'll bet all 104 of those residents do a lot of eye-rolling during tourist season.

Although shallow, I would almost like to rent "Fuck" the old school way-just so I could march into the video store and ask for it...loudly.

message 16: by Kirk (new)

Kirk | 154 comments And leave it to Wikipedia to make Fuck sound pretty fucking boring.

Here's a great party destination:

I could maybe see the others, but Butthole Road? How did that happen? Is there something else a butthole might be other than an anus? A hole in the butt of a rifle?

Twatt! Excellent! Sandy Balls is great, too.

message 19: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) The "Fanny" ones are funnier if you consider that in Britain, a fanny is a vagina, not the rear end like it is here.

The Brits love the American "fanny pack."

message 20: by Cyril (new)

Cyril Holy Hole of Horcum!
