SOLVED. Childrens picture book about the sun [s]

I feel like this is a really popular children's book and has a really obvious title, i just can't remember it! I was born in '88 so it had to have been written around that time period or before.

Its a picturebook about the sun who doesn't want to shine so a bunch of animals all go to visit him in the clouds to see why he isn't out. I think in the end they all polish him with their tails and stuff and then he shines.

How the Sun Was Brought Back to the Sky by Mirra Ginsburg. It's out of print, but it looks like there are a lot of inexpensive second hand copies available online. I adored this book when I was a kid.
