This month's YA read is:

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Have you read it? Will you be reading it?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I'VE READ IT! I'VE READ IT!
All I can say is READ IT! If you haven't read a JLA book yet, you are seriously missing out. She is my favourite author ever and I just can't praise this book enough.

message 3: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Yay! For the first time EVER, I can join in all three BoM discussions! Whoo!

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) WOHOO!

message 5: by Carole-Ann (new)

Carole-Ann (blueopal) OK - I voted for this one in the hope it would be chosen :) and that I would HAVE TO BUY it in order to read!!!

So thanks JA and OCD for raving :)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I make everyone read Jen's books

message 7: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I will say it didn't woo me as much as Obsidian but it came a close second--and it possibly would have wooed me more had I not read Obsidian first because damn, that book is a hard act to follow. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Carole-Ann. Makes a change for me to be provoking you into reading something, eh? :o)

message 8: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments I finished this book last night! I absolutely loved it! I love Aiden and Alex! They are great! :o) I am really looking forward to Hide & Seek (Games of Zeus #1) by Aimee Laine :o)

Julie...what is Obsidian?? :\

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout it's Jennifer's other book and it's even better than Half-Blood

message 10: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Obsidian is the first book in ... forever (?) that couldn't find anything to gripe about other than a few typos and edit errors, Denae. If you loved Half Blood, then Obsidian will blow you away. :o)

message 11: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Awesome! Thanks ladies! I'll buy it and check it out after I've read Hide & Seek! :o) Can't many little time! lol

message 12: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Ha! ... and such bad influences ....

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) You should wait till April, there's a new edition coming out lol

message 14: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Yep. I'm holding off until April and then there's a chance I'll grab myself a hard copy. :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Yea I'll be buying the new copy as well even though I already have it. I need matching covers lol

message 16: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Ha! Of course you do. You wouldn't be you otherwise, lol.

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) plus new daemon scenes, YUM!

message 18: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Oooooooh, nom.

message 19: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Haha you two are too funny! I might have to wait until April....we'll see though. I've moved it up pretty high on my TBR list! lol

message 20: by J.A. (last edited Mar 02, 2012 12:36PM) (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Whooo! 'Bout time I manipulated persuaded others instead of being the one manipulated persuaded. :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I'm glad I just bought it for one of my friends it's her birthday soon and I know she really wants to read it =)

message 22: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I think I've talked my best friend into buying it for her teen for her birthday with all my ranting, too.

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) lol well we can't help it that it's that amazing.
We should nominate it for YA BotM next month

message 24: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Yes! Totally! Then we can have another month of raving on, lol.

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) exactly haha

message 26: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Haha! Do that! That way I won't be behind another book! lol Would you say it's acceptable for 13 yr old to read? Well...let me put it this way, my sis won't let her read Twilight so.... :\ lol

On another note...I need some cheering up. I just found out today that I have orders to Alaska. Needless to say, I'm not stoked about it, but I think it may be because of "fear of the unknown". I don't leave until Dec but I'm still nervous/stressed/upset...etc. Anyone been there, or live there with some advice?

message 27: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I have a writer buddy who lives there. She loves it. Which part are you going to? Coz you know Alaska's a hot spot for aliens seriously beautiful, right?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Obsidian is a lot more 'hot' than Twilight. It definitely straddles the line between YA and Adult.

message 29: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Yes, it is certainly hotter than Twilight but there is no nookie just snogs hot enough to spontaneously combust a girl. ;o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) lol
damn I wanna read it again now ;)

message 31: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Me, too. Dammit I didn't want to send yours back, Kay. lol

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) LOL I have it on my kindle as well. I refuse to delete my ARC just incase I'm out and want a Daemon fix lol

message 33: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Hehehehehehe, yeah, I wouldn't delete it off my kindle either.

message 34: by Kayleigh {K-Books} (last edited Mar 03, 2012 02:39AM) (new)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I can't wait for the new version in May. They are up for pre-order on Amazon =D

I have just pre-ordered Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Onyx (Lux, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

message 35: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Are these ones mass market, Kay?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I don't know it just says paperback. I think they are like our normal size books.

message 37: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) awesomeness. I wonder if I'll get away with pre-ordering them and keeping my fingers crossed that my ban can be lifted by then.

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I've pre-ordered them and my book ban will not be over when Obsidian comes out. It'll be over when Onyx comes out so that fine. My excuse for Obsidian is it comes out in May so it's my birthday present to myself LOL

message 39: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Ha! Well, what's my excuse then as my birthday's not until September?

message 40: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) I'm going to preorder them as soon as you can preorder shadows as well!

message 41: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) btw the only thing thats keeping me from reading Half Blood is the cover... Why am I judging this book by its cover while everyone is raving about it!?!?!?

message 42: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Ignore the cover! IGNORE! Go read.

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) what's wrong with the cover? I think it's beautiful!

message 44: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments So..this series is a series worth actually buying and not on a Nook/Kindle/iPad?? I may buy it as a two month late birthday present to myself if that's the case! lol :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) It is sooooooooo worth it. It's my favourite book in the world

message 46: by Denae (new)

I'm going to be at Elmendorf Air Force's by Anchorage and Eagle River (if you know where that is lol). I knew Vampires were in Alaska but not aliens! lol....but yes I've heard it's very beautiful!

message 47: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Ooooh, there were werewolves in Anchorage in a book I read once. Might want to keep an eye open for those two. Ignore the hunky steroid-looking ones on the streets. They're bad news. Might be best to take a hike over the hills. That's where you'll find the decent ones. ;o)

message 48: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Oh my! I how could I have forgotten about the werewolves! I've read about them too! It's definitely worth making the hike over the hills to find the decent ones! :o) lol

Where does your friend live???

message 49: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Wasilla ???? Know of it? My geography pretty much sucks. Plus, Alaska is way huger than England so my perspective of distance from one spot to another is pretty skewed.

message 50: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) My sucky geography is the main reason I use made up name places for my stories. Ha!
