And don't understand with covers how things would work.

With music, you could read a book where a character in the book is in a band or plays an instrument.
For covers:
~Family: a person on the cover (male or female is up to you)
~Spring: A colour that reminds you of spring, or flowers, or sun
~Patriotism: a flag or a colour of your country's flag

Music: Instrument on the cover
Patriotism: Red, White, or Blue covers
Red:

White:
Blue:

Family: Family bonding in book

Spring: Titles beginning with each letter or flowers on cover

Meghan, Like your ideas for these categories.
MUSIC: A former co-worker who was one tough cookie passed away recently. Mrs. Kang taught both regular band as well as Jazz band and Jazz Combo. In her memory will read at least one book dealing with Jazz music. (Not made this month, but am adding it to my "April" reads)
The rest of the "themes" I'm going to see what book plots and/or covers I can work in.
PATRIOTISM: Red, White or Blue on the Cover (2/3)

FAMILY (Plot centers on a "family" and/or siblings exclusively):
The Christmas Wedding by James Patterson
SPRING (Floral Arrangements or Spring type items on the cover):
Hope to get into it next month.

NOTE: The books don't necessarily have to revolve around these topics. For example, you don't have to read a book that takes place completely during Spring; your challenge could be to read books that have green covers.
