Who out there likes Dexter?

I ended up watching with my mom and dad and fell in love with the show. Now that it's ended though I'm trying to scrape the internet to find every other Dexter thing made so I can read it go read it.

I loved the show in the first 4 seasons and then it kind of slipped each season after that! The books are Ok, the first and second are good, but the third and fourth are horrible. Haven't read any since the fourth one.

I loved the Dexter TV series so have started reading the books. I have only read the first book which I enjoyed but I think it was because I had the characters in my head from the Tv series. Imagination is such an important part of reading so I am not sure if I would have liked the book as much without having seen the Tv series.

I think most people wouldn't like to admit to liking the Dexter character but I think he is liked so much because there is a part of all of us that hates injustice.
We would not go as far as Dexter in "putting things right" but then most of us only have little injustices perpetrated upon us not the trauma Dexter suffered as a child and, even then, we fantasise about balancing the slight.

Actually the reverse was true for me. I read the book when it first came out and loved it. It was such a refreshingly new concept.

Then when the Showtime series came out I thought they nailed the characters perfectly. The book came alive for me.

The Dexter series is fantastic. I would have to say that i like the book series a bit more than the TV series. I watched it before i started reading it and there are so many differences between the two. I'm only on the 3rd book and a lot of people have given it a bad review but i'm hoping they're wrong haha

Dexter is the best serial killer in the world, the socially awkward madman got to me the first time I read Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I love Dexter's personality! He fakes out society so well. You're the best Dex!

I love the TV show series of Dexter but the books are good too. What they did to transform this book series into such an ausome TV series! The characters in the books like dexter and Debra are kind of dull but the tv series makes them a whole lot more interesting.

Just a quick update. I've read the 3rd and 4th book now and i'm still hooked. It's killing me that i haven't got the others in the series haha. I don't understand all the bad reviews for books 3 and 4 i thought they were really good. Book 4's ending was a little bit meh, but it was still entertaining and it still made me want to pick up the next book straight away. As i'm getting closer to the end of the book series i'm hoping that it doesn't end like the t.v series (not the best ending in the history of t.v lol) if it does...i'll probably be a little miffed lol
