So our book for next month (BECAUSE PEOPLE REQUESTED SMUTTY!) Is
"Slave to Sensation" by Nalini Singh.

I don't wanna hear people complain about the racy rating though! BE WARNED! :P
http://www.amazon.com/Slave-Sensation...
"Nalini Singh dives into a world torn apart by a powerful race with phenomenal powers of the mind-and none of the heart.

Born a Psy, Sascha Duncan must hide the emotions which mark her as flawed. But a passionate Changeling will tempt her to reveal everything-and risk her very soul."

XOOX

Marjorie (marjoriequinn) | 118 comments Excite! Put on hold at library. Now just have to hope I get it in time. I'm hold 4 on 3 copies. (Fingers Crossed).

message 3: by Chuck (new)

Chuck Bailey (chuck_bailey) | 63 comments Already got my copy! I can't stop giggling every time I see the cover though. I'm really looking forward to this one ;3

message 4: by Judi Serrato (new)

Judi Serrato (findingjudi) Can't wait to read this one and already have the hangout on my calendar. Don't want to miss this one!

message 5: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 18 comments I have read "Lord of the Abyss" that she wrote as part of a 4 book series for Harlequin. Each book in the series was done by a different author hers was the last in the series. She does do smutty very well.

message 6: by Canoe (new)

Canoe | 13 comments Wow...I already started reading this not even knowing it was the pick. Woot!

message 7: by Angela (new)

Angela I'll have to stop by the library...The other half and I don't have much room for more books at the moment...

message 8: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wdecora) This will be my first Kindle read.

message 9: by MAJK (new)

I actually ok enjoyed that, it is weird to read that fairy tale-ish kind of story and have all that porny stuff in there. Have you ever read DarkAngel by Margaret Pierce I think? It's one of my fave books, similar to that Lord book but without the sex parts and better written. It's Young Adult.

Haven't read it Felicia but I will check it out when i get time. Thanks for the recommendation :)

message 12: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I adore Nalini Singh. She's one of my favorite pnr/uf authors. Awesome books with awful covers.

message 13: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Lancashire (klancashire) | 21 comments I'm so excited. This isn't a book I'd normally go anywhere near (probably due to cover alone) so I'm excited to expand my horizons in terrible ways :)

Can I send a shout out and props to anyone that will be reading this NOT on an e-reader, in public, on the bus, etc?

I can only read books on my nook at this point. I live in a small apartment with another person and a dog, so my space for storing paperback books is severely limited. I donated half my personal stash to the public library when I moved in here. *sadface*

message 15: by Karo (new)

Karo | 38 comments Guys, I'm a brave survivor of Slave to Sensation PTSD. I checked the Kindle edition out from the library a couple of months ago when I was first dipping my toe into UF/PNR waters. Unfortunately, all the household Kindles are linked to my amazon account ... I'm sure you can see where this is going ... that night my husband fires up his Kindle Fire and of course the shirtless wonder pops up in the carousel in all of his mauve glory. I think my husband might have laughed so hard he gave himself a hernia.

Suffice it to say I'm still living that one down.

Ah ha ha, laughing is good! I loaded it onto my Kobo last night and the boyfriend took one look, shook his head and wandered off muttering things about how he's officially lost me.

message 17: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathenwood) | 8 comments My boyfriend doesn't poke around on my nook any more. Not after he opened it in the middle of an extremely graphic sex scene. Now he'll only play angry birds on it if I open the app for him. "Just in case."

message 18: by RogueHireling (new)

RogueHireling (rogue_hireling) | 76 comments Love this series!! Perfect next book!!

message 19: by Keith (new)

Keith (keithatc) The cover makes me upset that it doesn't come with a free sampler of cologne.

message 20: by Jill (new)

Jill Ordered - thankfully the British edition has a much better cover!

message 21: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (Amandaspradlin) | 1 comments I'm finishing up Game of Thrones book 4 and then I'm starting this and joining you girls on March 26th! Can't wait! it will be my first book to read with you ladys :-)

message 22: by Manuel (new)

Manuel | 8 comments Had the option to get the British cover but I chose the US one. It was cheaper and I will enjoy reading this book in public a lot more. :)

message 23: by Louann (new)

Louann (loulougirl) | 11 comments Yay! So excited to start reading this one! :) I couldn't get into Silent in the Grave, too slow for me. The cover is so fantastic that I'm almost sad I opted for the Kindle version.. lol

message 24: by Krysha (new)

Krysha | 1 comments Just order mine excited to read it

message 25: by Jemma (new)

Jemma (misschocobo) | 34 comments Will have to grab this soon. Thankfully the UK cover is a little less cheese tastic as i carry whatever book i'm reading everywhere with me!

message 26: by Nancy Marie (new)

Nancy Marie (nmhammon) I found you ladies through a recommendation from Stephanie Thorpe. I am so glad that I did! Sadly, I have already read this book but I can't wait to join in on the fun in March!
Also, I love the name of this group! Although I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about searching YouTube for "Vaginal Fantasy". ;)

message 27: by Viktoria (new)

Viktoria | 34 comments Considering I live in a small town and our library doesn't have this book I went to amazon. While there, getting ready to buy this book for my iPad, I decided to look at an excerpt of the book. "...he could tell her breasts would overflow in his hands. As she bent to examine something on the ground, he almost gave into the urging of his beast." Oh goodness.

message 28: by Emily (new)

Emily Kao Messmer | 20 comments I put a hold on this (e)book from my library. Hopefully I get it in time. Can't wait!

Hahahah, awesome. :-D

message 30: by Virginia (new)

Virginia Okay, I walked out of the library with a paperback version of this today, pink sauna cover and all, and got a LOOK from the librarian. Haha!

message 31: by Beth (new)

Beth Just joined the group. This isn't normally something I'd read but I'll give it a shot. Maybe I can find a dust jacket from Jane Eyre or something classy to wrap around the cover.

message 32: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Messer-urieta | 1 comments Will download to my kobo app on the iPad. I have already read kiss of snow so I will be moving backwards on this one. I've read the guild hunter series 3 times already found that series to be one of he best I've ever read. When you use kobo you can see how many ppl are reading same book and conversate, I think it even tells you where they are in the book

message 33: by RogueHireling (new)

RogueHireling (rogue_hireling) | 76 comments This would be an awesome way to 'hide' your smutty books - make a hollow book.
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Hollow-...
Can use something virginal like a bible or maybe the Jane Austin Omnibus. It is certainly huge enough to hold most smutty books inside it. =D

Jane Austen's Complete Novels Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Lady Susan, and Love a by Jane Austen

message 34: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 3 comments I've got one of those hollow books, they are fun if anything. I'm still a lover of paperbacks that I can toss around and such, but if I do read this one I think it will be an e-read, not sure I can admit to having a book (with that cover) lying around! Might have to sit this one out though... a little too far out of my genre perhaps

message 35: by Erin (new)

Erin (ershyn) | 2 comments I almost took a pass on this book due to that cover. (I know, judging a book by its cover...) but I downloaded it, the reviews are good and I enjoyed the last 2 books (and subsequent books in their series) The Guild Hunter series looks pretty good as well, I think I downloaded the first of that, too. I have to stop downloading books at 2am...

message 36: by Mordant23 (new)

Mordant23 | 7 comments Could Vaginal Fantasy be responsible for the fact that there are 10 people on the waiting list for two copies of the ebook at the LA Public Library? I'd like to think so. This would totally not be a book I could carry around in public given the cover although it may be interesting just to see what sort of reaction I would get.

message 37: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Dewar | 1 comments I absolutely love the Psy/Changling series. The cover is what initially kept me from reading this book. Once you get past that, it is an excellent story and in my opinion, less smutty than the cover would suggest. Regardless, I did end up reading it on my e-reader so I wasn't carrying the hard copy around with me. I felt less dirty.... lol.

message 38: by Laurie (new)

Laurie | 1 comments I bought the book yesterday and couldn't put it down till i had finished it. AWESOME PICK!

message 39: by Melinda (new)

Melinda VanLone | 51 comments I bought it, it's next up on my list! I'm all excited, it's been too long since I've read some good smut ;-)

message 40: by Keith (new)

Keith (keithatc) Display it proudly! I might mount mine on a stick so I can parade it up and down the street! How else is that man going to afford his mauve mist machine?

Mauve mist machine.... LOVE IT!

message 42: by Jemma (new)

Jemma (misschocobo) | 34 comments My local bookstore and library is all out. Looks like i'm actually going to have to get this online or use an app for my ipod touch

message 43: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 9 comments I read this book a few years ago, it was good! I think it deserves another go around! lol

message 44: by Disi (new)

Disi (danicaandrenos) Just joined the group and I have to say I'm glad I'm not reading a paperback version. I blushed just looking at the cover.

message 45: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie Burton (bonniegrrl) | 29 comments Mod
yay!! Finally some smutty smut! With Shapeshifters! Yeehaw!

Same here - I loved it!

message 47: by Dan (last edited Feb 29, 2012 05:05PM) (new)

Dan | 25 comments Smutty, yes, but also a surprising amount of depth. The characters are well fleshed out (snicker), Sacha's internal struggle with her emotions is compelling, Lucas and his pack dynamic are cool, I like the world a lot. I have to say, I find the Shifter's insistence that the Psys are all horrible depraved psycho killers and then in the next breath expressing a desire to go murder them in bloody fashon all a bit...hypocritical? I mean the Psy are cold and freaky sure, but does that make killing in a bloody frenzy any less crazy? I think not. Anyway, the whole thing is interesting, not to mention...stimulating and I look forward to finishing the book.

message 48: by Louann (new)

Louann (loulougirl) | 11 comments So far so good guys.. I'm really diggin it!

message 49: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I've been devouring Carey's Kushiel series ever since the brief mention from the first videocast... I think I'll take a break to read this one.

I can already imagine the look that my man is going to give that cover. You should be issued some sort of "Vaginal Fantasy" privacy sleeve to sheath your hard copies in when you join the group. :)

message 50: by Tara (new)

Tara Kievlan (thingwhatsqueeks) | 1 comments I'm totally in. Of course I had to have my husband fix the Kindle so I could download the book... which lead to him asking why. I told him, "Oh, I'm going to join a new book club." I think he's more amused than anything. I'm really looking forward to our VR club. Especially since I can drink all the wine I want since I won't have to drive home afterwards. :)
