Heather Painter Grades:6-8

Summary: This graphic novel is set in Iran between the late 1970’s and early 1980’s during the Islamic Revolution. In this memoir, Marji tells the story of how her life changed between the Shah’s regime and the war with Iraq. Through the illustrations and text, she depicts details of events that she, her family and her friends all encountered as well as the emotions she felt during this time in her life.

Themes: Islamic Revolution, life in different cultures, relationships among family

Carlo Omana Excellent graphic novel.

Ruby Emam Excellent and so realistic.

Matt amazing chapters in here -- some, not so much. important book, but possibly overrated? other historical graphic novels just as good or better?
