For Margaret: Fast paced crazy life of book reviewing, and too hot to quilt in the bonus room. My mother's uncle has Alzheimer's and will not last the week it is said. He was a marine, and always kinda cooky, but now he's literally crazy on all these meds. It's a rough time for his brother, my grandfather. Also, this weekend is the anniversary of the mysterious death of my cousin, she would be 17 in June. Just odd and difficult time for the family. I'm most worried about my granddaddy though, it seems people keep dying around him, and it is depressing him, he is now 90 years old.
For Amy: her plans of a move and a family
For all other: prayer and praise in general let me know of others

message 2: by Amy (new)

Amy (amyfishgirl) | 17 comments Thanks for the prayers! We are expecting a little one in early January. We also bought a house, and we move in June 30. I am so busy packing!
Please continue praying for all the flood waters here in WI. For example, our HUGE lake is 4 feet above normal and USUALLY the lake comprises 6,542 acres and the maximum depth is 7 feet (with 21% less than 3 feet deep.) This extra water has actually increased our lake size by 50%!!! On average the lake contains 1,139,878,080 cu ft. With this flooding there is 1,143,878,080 extra water on top of the already normal amount!!!! Sorry, I tried to convert it to miles, but my mind is boggled already:) and this is not mentioning the amount of influx from the above river and the flooding occurring down stream from the dam. There are so many roads closed it is almost impossible to get from Madison to Milwaukee. You have to drive all the way down to Beloit, WI... an extra 140 miles OUT OF YOUR WAY!!!!! And if you live in the little towns in between it is impossible to find your way out! too many lakes, dams, creeks, and rivers. please continue to pray for all of them.
I have one more prayer request. I know of a lady who had 2 miscarriages in the last 2 years and is expecting again, near my due date. PLEASE keep her and her unborn baby in your thoughts and prayers. They were really scared to try for another one. I am excited for them, and continue to pray daily for this one's safety.
God works wonders!

My great uncle died several months ago. It has made my grandfather even weaker, but we are just grateful for the time that we do have with him. He is now 90 (Feby 14th).

We are in the process of buying a house, we close on the 12th. I'm really praying hard for everything to go well! I will have a great room for a library and will be able to get back my books that have been in boxes for the last two years. Plus an area to quilt that will be on the main level of the second floor and will not suffer from the heat problems as does this current rental bonus room over the garage

We also found a great church home, which is wonderful, b/c hubby and I haven't really found "home" since we started dating. Just been visiting a little everywhere, but now we have found a great church near our new house at that! We're also trying to get pregnant, so pray for that too...

For Amy: setting in completely in her new home, that the cat doesn't kill the neighbor cat, and of course baby Goomba. :)

message 4: by Julie (new)

Julie | 9 comments Hey MJ! Glad to hear that the date for closing is getting closer!! We'll almost be neighbors!
Where are you attending church?

Amy, I don't "know" you but I hope all will go well with the pregnancy and that you are settling well in your new home!

The latest is Nov. 4th for a closing date. Hopefully it will stay that way!

We are attending Abiding Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Right now we are meeting in the Childcare Experience School in Porterdale. We are breaking ground with a huge celebration (that everyone is invited to) on October 19th. I do not know how long it will take for the building to be built, but it is very exciting.

message 6: by Julie (new)

Julie | 9 comments I've never bought a house before so I can only imagine the frustrations of the dates being thrown out even further! We do hope to move one day when things look a little better. I need to have my own room with an office for all my books and a place where I can go and just "be me" for awhile!

message 7: by Amy (new)

Amy (amyfishgirl) | 17 comments Julie, thanks for the well wishes. We are 28 weeks now (gotta get to 40 weeks) and are doing well. We do not know what we are having, so the nursery is purple in the new house, and looks nice. Both of us are getting excited, and it is tough having to wait, almost like a kid waiting for christmas to come!

message 8: by Mystery Girl (new)

Mystery Girl (mysterygirl) | 17 comments Could you guys pray for a friend of mines cousin? He has heart problems and needs heart surgery. They have to put him on the Breath of Life machine and repair a valve on his heart.

message 9: by Julie (new)

Julie | 9 comments I love that the nursery is purple!!! That's my favorite color!!

I will continue to pray for a healthy delivery. Enjoy your sleep (what little you may be getting now!) because it won't happen after the little blessing arrives!! Babies are great, but tons of work!! I love mine to death and wouldn't trade them for the world!!!

Also is a praise.
My friend's cousin made it through surgery and is recovering nicely

Ok. Yesterday we did the closing on the house with one glitch. The seller's bank has not signed off yet. They were suppose to. Now, one day later. They still haven't. So, we own the house (utilities, etc taxes and more) are our responsibility, but we cannot take possession until they sign off. I'm so frustrated. This entire situation has been a ridiculous nightmare.

So with all the drama last year about buying our house - we finally got it in November (see previously posts above)... now my DH as well as 98 co workers has been laid off in a department merge. So now, we may move... depending on where he gets a new job. Oh, and did I mention I am 7 months pregnant??

Thanks Kate! Today he has an interview and it would still involve moving, but it is very close to both our parents, so it would be the best so far it if could go through. What we know at this time is that he is one of four narrowed down finalists for the position.

Ok. So from the interview on Monday he has already found out he is the second choice and they are pursuing the other guy. They said they might deem to make a position for him, but that could take a year or more...

He is going to look and interview at some other places in GA, but none of which are jobs that he is crazy about and he said they would more be something to preoccupy his time until something better came along.

There are two other jobs that he is seriously considering. First off know that we have both lived in GA our entire lives. Our parents are both here. My brother and his family are here (expecting a child in December). The next job, which he has a second scheduled phone interview for this week is in Colorado Springs, CO and the other he is flying to PA for next Monday.

I got the call this morning. I'm officially being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I spent the morning at the pharmacy, and have a nutritionist appointment on Tuesday.

message 21: by Julie (new)

Julie | 9 comments Margaret, it seems that you and your little family are getting hit pretty hard right now. You are all in my prayers. PLEASE let me know if you need anything that I can do for you. After all, I'm just up the street! :)

message 22: by Charmaine (new)

Charmaine (empress_charla) | 114 comments I will pray even harder for you & your family, Margaret! I know that God makes things work together for good!

Kate, it's good to know that your friend had a safe delivery with her baby! Margaret, you should be okay, too! *hugs*

Thanks girlies. It's amazing how two months ago, my DH and I were eating out and I just started giggling. He asked me what was up and I just smiled and told him that I was perfectly happy and could not explain it. This for me was a big deal because I have suffered from depression off and on for years. Then spent another few years finding ways to deal (delving into fiction is one of them...) then I spent two years trying and failing to get pregnant, and all of the sudden there I was perfectly happy and pregnant to boot. It is definitely an attack on my spiritual well being I'm sure. Satan does not like me to be so happy, I'd assume. So first Daniel losing his job, and then our future being thrown into the unknown and now the GD. What's funny is that I'm still happy. I'm not over worried. For me, that's just bizarre. But there is too much good and too much time for more good for me to worry about silly badness.

Vague update: Cannot keep BG levels in check by diet, so I will have to start taking meds as of tonight and then daily 2x. I am also assigned to start seeing the Perinatal Specialists next week (again like at the beginning of the pregnancy, but this time for GDM). June 22nd is my husband's last day of work and we have yet to lock in a new job... Baby is due August 15th, but could come as early as July 18th because of the GDM.

Baby Update: I have gestational diabetes, and went to see the specialist today. He told us that it is only borderline, better safe than sorry monitoring, and definitely no need for insulin at where we currently are, and doubts I will need any at all. Just to watch my diet and life in the future to avoid getting Type 2 diabetes later in life. Right now, baby girl is 4 lbs 4 oz, and at this rate she'll be about 8 lbs at birth by assumption. Healthy, heart pumping, lungs working, kidneys and stomach all look good. So I'm happy! Originally they said we would see the maternal fetal specialist every week until birth, he said he'll see us in 6 weeks. So that's good! (Plus there would be a copay each time!!) I get to see my regular CNMidwife next Thursday and then every two weeks for her until then end.

Southernbelle0326 | 15 comments Please pray for my husband and I. My husband dont have a job and it is so hard. We live with my parents. I am really ashamed to say that but it is true. He had an interview on Friday. An interview that could put us in the "normal married couple" category. I need my own place!!! We are both going crazy.
I have given this issue to God and placed it in His hands. I have even walked away from it, but, occasionally remember it in prayer. I would also like to for others to pray for the same thing, if yall dont mind.

Its so nice to know that I can go to other Christians and know that I am loved and remembered.

With love to all,

I feel you Tiffany.

Southernbelle0326 | 15 comments Thanks yall. I sometimes feel selfish when asking someone to pray for me considering that there are so many others that are in the same boat as me if not worse. But to be truthful, I have been living with my parents for 4 years off and on. That is entirely too long to be living with someone else besides your significant other. I am so ashamed of it. We have been married for 7 years and we were suppossed to start a life together all those years ago. Well, I didnt think that this would be my life. You know you only live once and I feel like a failure. When we got married, Joe had a decent job. We were fine for the first year and a half and then everything started to spiral down. He got laid off, I got laid off. He went back to work and I then got laid off again. I had to take on 2 jobs just to make ends meet. By then we were so deep it was extremely hard. Then turned out that the best choice was to move back down to Georgia and file for bankruptcy. My husband started work at Circuit City 3 months after we moved back down. But we still had so much going out and barely any money coming was terrible. Well, now, Joe was laid off due to CC filing for bankruptcy and closing down all these stores. Ever since November he has been out of a job and not a job in sight that could help us get out on our own....its so frustrating. I have been praying for everyone who is going through tough financial times right now and nowadays I think that is pretty much everybody. I pray for each of you as well. God knows what you are going through and I ask that He will take care of each of your needs. I believe in the power of prayer and that it is a great way to have a relationship with God. When things have fallen so low, God will be there and will pick you up. He is an awesome and powerful God and without Him, I can do nothing. You hear the saying "God never puts more on you than you can handle" but if you think about it like this, as it was told to me, "God never puts more on you than God can handle" it makes sense. Why would He do that? Why would God not put more on you than you can handle? If he did that, you wouldnt give it to God, would you? So this is how I live my days...
God will never put anything more on you than God can handle...Give it to God and let him take care of it for you!

With all of my love to you all,

Southernbelle0326 | 15 comments Hubby's job update...

Joe has a job!!! PTL! He is now an employee of Best Buy (right up his alley since he worked for Circuit City). His training starts this w/e I believe. I just wanted to let you lovely ladies know. God is so good! I love ya'll. Will write more later!

message 35: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 313 comments So, I had a bad day today at work. I work at a daycare and State came by to make an unexpected visit. Apparently they got a call about someone working in our daycare about some stuff...can't go into detail, but it's not good. Breaks my heart and I'm sad I didn't catch on to it sooner, or I would've said something. So,needless to say, I will be handing in my two weeks notice. Unless they shut us down. Don't need to work at a place were unethical things are happening. Sad thing was watching my four and five year olds being pulled out of class because they had to go talk to the "nice lady about how they liked daycare" It's a small daycare and i hardly make what I should be making with my experience, but I don't do it for the money. Hopefully, I'll find a job quickly and one that is flexible with my college classes.

message 37: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 313 comments Yeah, it stinks....especially since I feel for the kids. I'm a bleeding heart! I just got to the point where I was so mad that I broke down and cried to my mom and dad. Things like this just irritate me and make me wonder why certain people even open daycares when they can't handle things properly.

message 38: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 313 comments Thanks...I've never had to deal with anything like this in ten years of working in daycares. So, it's kinda scary and sad.

Southernbelle0326 | 15 comments Thanks you guys. We are waiting for the call for him to start his training. His boss said I will call you within the week and we havent heard anything. I have been praying for all of you and will continue to pray for all of yall.

I havent been on for a while b/c my mother had been recently diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and Joes aunt had a severe stroke. It all happened like back to back. Hi all. I'm doing much better and actually read a bit yesterday. :) Charlotte is well, she was better than I, but now we're working on a bit of jaundice. Waiting on the test results from today to hopefully get out of the horribly confining bilibed. Imagine having a baby you cannot hold. Ugh.

message 48: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 313 comments I had jaundice and dislocated hips when i was born. Mom had to watch them stick a pin in my leg and i was in a body cast for six months! She knows your pain. Glad things went well. :D

I just started job hunting since Friday was my last day at work. I may be called in for an interview within the next two weeks at another daycare. They were glad I had a resume. I'll be looking all week before family vacation time. So, hopefully I will have one ready when I come back.

message 49: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 313 comments Thanks! Seems like all my life i'm in that top five percent that has something extra healthwise wrong with them. :D Sad thing was, mom wasn't a believer at the time I was so sick. She didn't get saved till I was three. So, she didn't have God to rely upon like most Christian moms.

Thanks for the prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

Margaret, it's great that you're feeling better & can get in some reading time. :-) It's wonderful news that your baby's health is improving. I will still pray for Charlotte, you, and your husband!
