I don't see any free GSF on Amazon at the moment, but here are a few others I like. First some longer works that are part of a series:

Do Over is here: http://www.gayauthors.org/dkstories/d... (time travel).

Mind Fuck is here: http://www.mannazone.org/zone/admin/i... (dystopia)

The Syndicate: Volume 1 is here: http://www.julesjones.com/fiction/syn... (goofy space opera).

And here are some short stories:

Mike Dies at the End: http://s2b2.livejournal.com/61440.html (paranormal flavored time travel)

Cheesecake and the Art of Political Warfare: http://s2b2.livejournal.com/100813.html (goofy space opera loosely based on the 2008 elections).

Being Evil: http://s2b2.livejournal.com/110334.html (umm . . . goofy dystopia maybe?)

There are also several in the Hot Summer Days collections and/or by group authors. I'll dig around and post some later.

The link for free GLBT (mostly gay) books on amazon is
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Kindle-Store-Gay-Lesbian-Fiction/zgbs/digital-text/172503011#1.

It's updated hourly, but it seems like checking 2-4 times a day gets you most of the changes. I've gotten a few really good books from there, not a lot of sci-fi but a couple of books.

lulu.com is having a sale ending after Feb 23. "SWEET" and "SALTY" are legitimate codes; I tested them. But I'm not sure if you can use both, or if it's one or the other.

Duane Simolke (duanesimolke) | 26 comments Degranon: A Science Fiction Adventure. The brilliant scientist Taldra loves her twin gay sons and sees them as the hope for Valchondria's future, but one of them becomes entangled in the cult of Degranon, while the other becomes stranded on the other side of a doorway through time.

Coupon Code REW50 through 3/10/12 at Smashwords.

I'm revising the sequel now.

The sale at Smashwords is actually fairly extensive, although not much in sci-fi.

Is there any way to select for both? I am not seeing it.

I'm not sure what you mean for 'both.' You can only choose one category at a time: free, 100% off, 75% off, 50% off, and 25% off. Is that what you mean?

Meghan and Charming,

Try clicking science fiction on the left, and then click one of the price choices at the top.

Both science fiction and gay. :-)

message 17: by Meghan (new)

 Meghan (mm_reads) | 168 comments Mod
You can type "gay science fiction" in the search box, but that doesn't let you look those books up with the sales info. Smashwords has never seemed to have a very sophisticated search engine that I've been able to find. Anyone else know otherwise?

There are quite a big number of new books for sale or free at Smashwords too. That is for their "Read an Ebook a Week" sale. https://www.smashwords.com/books/cate...

This is sort of sci-fi and evocative of Ray Bradbury:

Anne Tenino (annetenino) | 197 comments Hey folks!

I'll be doing a "Giveaway on the Downlow" for members of the group in a couple weeks. The giveaway will be for 18% Gray, the first Task Force Iota book. The week after the giveaway, Dreamspinner will have it on sale for a significant amount off (I want to say 40%, but silly me I forgot to double check that).

This is all in preparation for the June discussion of 18% Gray and the forthcoming (May 30) Turning Tricks, the next in the Task Force Iota series.

Don't worry, I'll keep everyone updated. But remember—members of the group only.

Thank you!

And I don't have a cover yet, so possibly that's the reason...

message 35: by Anne (new)

Anne Tenino (annetenino) | 197 comments So, as promise, here's some info on the giveaway for 18% Gray. The giveaway is for members of this group only.

The giveaway will begin next week, on Monday the 14th of May. I'll give interested parties until Friday to enter, then I'll announce the winner on Saturday in this group, in the "June Author of the Month" thread.. I *think* this will be just your standard "email me and I'll put you in the hopper" giveaway, unless I get all creative...

The prize is one ebook copy of 18% Gray in the format of your choice.

The following week, there will be a sale on the books of all authors who signed with Dreamspinner in their fourth year of business, so anyone who's interested but didn't win can buy a copy of 18% Gray there if they wish.

Then, on May 30th, the sequel to 18% will be released, Turning Tricks. I'm planning another giveaway for that, details TBD.
