Tressa (moanalisa) | 19935 comments A few years ago for a short period we had a monthly group read for short stories. Would anyone be interested in starting this up again? I like to read short stories and discuss them since they can be read in a short amount of time. Let me know what you think.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19935 comments I forgot how we did it before. Maybe we nominated some and voted on them? I'll have to check when I have time.

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments I do not know much about short stories. I have only read a handful of them. I did read one last night....it started of ok but ended predictably.
What is considered a short story? Pages?

Wendy Barlow | -46 comments Im not really a fan of short stories but since i got my Kindle I have downloaded quite a few free ones and I have quite enjoyed the ones I have read so I would like to try a group read.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19935 comments Should we suggest some? They can be horror or dark fiction or one with a sci-fi theme, too.

I would love to do a group read on the short story Benjamin Button by Fitzgerald. The story is amazing; the last few paragraphs will have you weeping. I still think of the ending.

ETA: It's free on Kindle, too.

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments I think I have a few short stories on my nook....I will check. Do you have a like to the free one on Kindle?

message 16: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 82 comments Benjamin Button is a great idea! I would also quite like to read some Lovecraft. The Colour from Outer Space is one I've got my eye on.

message 17: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19935 comments OK. Want to read Benjamin Button? I re-read it yesterday and cried at the end...again. I'll create a new thread in case people ever want to add their two cents down the line and won't be able to find it here.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19935 comments Hey, Michael. I created a thread for the Benjamin Button discussion. You can post spoilers because people shouldn't be there unless they've read it if they don't want it to be spoiled.
