An Odd1 | 80 comments Author "Dick Francis" listing includes books illustrated by "Dick Francis"
illustrator
is apparently not same as late jockey writer Richard Stanley Francis
author
We have author sites, but illustrator sites? (Chris Riddell writes as well as illustrates Edge Chronicles with Paul Stewart.) The name is spelled the same "Dick Francis" on book listings, and there are several for the illustrator under the author's listing. Could someone more senior take this on please?

Cait (tigercait) | 5005 comments We track authors, editors, illustrators, narrators, etc., all distinguished on their books by the author role field. (No role is assumed to mean author.)

However, if two different people have the same name, regardless of whether they are authors, illustrators, author/illustrators, etc., then we disambiguate them by adding extra spaces between the less popular person's first and last name. (You can read about this in more detail in the librarian manual.)

I've created a new disambig profile for Dick^^Francis here:

Are there any other books left on Dick^Francis which should be the illustrator, not the author?

An Odd1 | 80 comments Wow. Wonderful job. Well done.
Out of 165 + 11 works, looks like you got them all. Fair number of unknowns, eh? And translations - lucky Francis has a 2-syllable title preference. I didn't know enough to create such an attractive new profile with so little info.

does explain for authors, but the illustrator role twist threw me.

Thanks for the disambiguate example and fine work.
