Great idea Christopher! We had a tough reader on our first book Night Marchers who gave us a 3. (Her rating average on goodreads is like 3.73 so she doesn't give high ratings liberally.) We were used to getting 5's and some 4's so we were feeling a little down about the 3 even though it's not really a bad rating. Anyhow, we just released our second book in the series on Sunday so I offered the reader a free copy of our second book. I wanted to see if we had upped our game (since Night Marchers was our first self published book). She graciously accepted the challenge and finished the book in one day. She gave us a 4 with a really great review and recommendation. That was really exciting for us since she was a tough cookie to impress. :D
Rebecca, that's so great! A bad or even luke warm review can be a real disappointment. I'm betting that rating of 3 was on your mind as you worked on your second book.
Seeing her higher rating and glowing review must have had you walking on air!
The kickstarter for preordering paperback copies of my novel closed out with 110 preorders!
Congrats to all! It is great to have a place to shout out something great. Sometimes it's tough to keep it all to yourself. For me, it's a minor thing. I've finally settled on a title for my latest book. Titles are the worst for me...so glad to have it done!Watch out for Rise of the King coming soon. LOL.

My novel, Greaveburn, has been accepted for publication! It'll be out around July this year, all being well. I'm seriously excited, giddy, and petrified. Hope to see you all there! :)

Here is an odd one. I just sold a book (written in English) on Amazon France. Go figure.
Wow....Congratulation everyone on a job well done. 5 star reviews makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside....lets us know that we put out a great story but when we do see a 3 star or less, we instantly feel like someone punched us in the gut. But that's comes with the territory. Just remind yourself that even authors like Stephen King, Danielle Steele have gotten low stars.....so we are not the only ones. So keep your chin up and smile proudly at your wondeful accomplishments.

I have since had 3 UK sales and no DEs. Where the FR sale came from is beyond me. I sometimes wonder where my 35% royalty sales are coming from. There's something very fulfilling knowing that the effort and time you put into writing produces something people honestly enjoy.
This got me thinking that as a community we need to have a place where we can share our successes, milestones, and like that and celebrate with each other and not feel like others think we're marketing our books.
So, if you like the idea then come on. Share, celebrate, dance, whatever. Spread the good feelings with the rest of us.
