Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments I'm the author of this book AND I've joined the Librarian group. Can someone please, please explain to me why Goodreads won't let me edit the award info? I posted the award myself, but now it won't let me edit the very thing I added—it keeps telling me "only Goodreads Librarians" can do that. Which is a little mystifying considering that A. I am supposedly a Goodreads Librarian now ,and B. it let me post it in the first place. Help!!

❂ Jennifer (jennevans) | 871 comments You can join the Librarian group without being a Librarian - you have to apply to GR for librarian status: http://www.goodreads.com/help/librari...

As to why you can't edit an award on your book that you added - I don't have the answer to that one. I'm sure someone here with far more experience than I have can answer that though.

If you want to post what change you want to make to the award here, I or one of the other librarians will be happy to change it for you.

Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments Many, many thanks for this response, Jennifer! I followed the link that GR gave me, which simply led to this group — I didn't realize there was a whole other step. If you wouldn't mind editing the award for me I'd be most grateful. I just wanted to add this link: http://bnreview.barnesandnoble.com/t5.... THANK YOU!

❂ Jennifer (jennevans) | 871 comments Hi Annia - I'm getting and "unexpected error" page when I click on this link - can you verify it's the correct one? Thanks! :)

Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments I tried clicking on it and got the same error—but then tried cutting and pasting it and it worked fine. ??? Here's the link again: http://bnreview.barnesandnoble.com/t5.... Thanks again!

Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments Just figured out the problem: it's the period at the end of the link. Here's the link with no period:

THANKS AGAIN!

Paula (paulaan) | 7024 comments Got it

I changed the award name since it did not comply with GR policies to

Barnes and Noble - Discover Great New Writer's Award Nominee (2011)

Once you win in March we can change to Winner since the winners are not announced until 7th March

Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments Dear Paula:

Nominee is NOT accurate. The judges chose three nonfiction finalists. Selection is not the same as nomination. Anyone can nominate a book.

In my original description, I said the book was a "finalist," which is accurate, not a "winner" (which I have no idea how you came up with — did someone else change it?)

Please change it back to my original wording, which was this: "One of three nonfiction finalists for the 2011 Discover Great New Writers Awards."

If you have a problem with that, you can simply quote from the B&N website and say that it's one of three nonfiction books shortlisted for the Discover Great New Writers Award.

Thanks very much,

annia

Annia Ciezadlo | 7 comments Dear Paula:

Please see this press release for further confirmation that Day of Honey is a finalist, not a "nominee":

thanks,

annia

Paula (paulaan) | 7024 comments Your wording is not the name of the award

"One of three finalists of the Barnes and Noble xxxx" is not an award name.

Barnes and Noble - Discover Great New Writer's Award is the awards name.

I have changed nominee to finalist
