I cried when Sirius and Dumbledore died. I also cried when harry buried Dobby.
I also cried when Tonks and Lupin died because I thought it was sad I mean they just had a baby and they don't get to be around to see him grow.

i don't like the choices of characters that were killed. being a mom it made me hate that tonks and lupin died but i understand that some people needed to die
I cry every person killed in the all 7 book (not the bad guy, but the good guys) And the 3 last chapters of the book(7) I cry with no pause.

I hate that the books are over. No matter how many times I read the books they are still wonderful but I still want more. I cried during the last 3 books more than anything though. Those were the most emotional ones when it came to the death thing...

RIP to all the people who died ( that we like)
....Minute of silence

sirius.
DUMBLEDORE
Then book 7 was so full of sad deaths.
I agree with April about crying for Snape. I was so happy that he was a good guy after all -- and I really wanted Draco to be good and to be accepted and loved, since he hated so much. Snape too. They hated because they were hated. But Harry was hated, and he didn't hate. . .
(The biggest problem with being overly trained in psychology is that everything is so damn analytical. You know, "is my cat's life MEANINGFUL???!!!")
But I disgree with Kristin's (??) post about the "overuse of death". -- the whole premise of the books was good vs. bad. The good side was up against an amazing foe and one that was bloodthirsty and calculating and horrifying. To make the battle real there would be death on both sides. Deaths like Cedric's or Hedwig's were incidental -- but there are ALWAYS incidental deaths (i.e., not soldiers') in real life wars and fictional wars. not pretty. but realistic. The books would not have been so compelling if the deaths were eliminated.

I think that Harry's heartaches make us feel more into the story. Resently I read a book and it was really good, but the charactors where so boring. One of them loses her whole family and the author only spent two paragraphs talking about it!!!! Harry's world is much more real. Sometimes I feel as though I am right beside him, watching what is going on. J.K. Rowling is a fabulous author and I have to say that I am jealous of her mind!!!!!

and then fred..i cried like hell.......
its unfair for such an awesome person to die at such a young age (im not accusing rowling). imagine what fred would've done in his walk of life, done great things...it was tragic, i hated that moment....
the last line of the paragraph in which he died:
the ghost of his last laugh etched upon his face.
beautiful..and sad

I teared up a little when sirius died, then again when dumbledore kicked the bucket, but the 7th book...
I started crying when Dobby died (he was my favourite) then I practically bawled my way through the end of the book. (jk - there were some tears streaming down my cheeks, though)
My problem is that I get to attached to characters when I read a book. I fall in love every time I go to the library.
Frank - I totally agree with you. Rowling cut off voldemort's death waaaaaay to short. Even though harry is the main character, the whole plot really focused around both voldemort and harry. In fact, the whole thing seemed kinda rushed.

Fred's death was the closest i came to crying. i think i had grown to depend on Fred & George's comic relief, and it really never crossed my mind that one of *them* would die -- i thought that if a Weasley had to die that it would be Percy (after making up with the family).
Dobby's death shocked and angered me the most; i remember screaming when i read that part! if anyone deserved the right to live on the peaceful side, it was Dobby! the part of Dobby's death that nearly made me cry was the way that Harry grieved for him.
*okay...i'm starting to tear up now...*
i was definitely shocked by how Snape died, but after reading "The Prince's Tale", i was completely frozen. even after i finished the entire book, i kept reading that chapter over & over. i kind of had a feeling that Snape had loved Lily, but i was totally blown away at the depth of his feelings, and the lengths he went through to atone for his mistakes.

The seventh book was quite an emotional roller coaster ride for me. I was really heartbroken when Harry saw Voldemort's point of view of the night Lily and James died. That was the first time that we got the entire scene, and it really upset me. The entire series is very heartbreaking from the start because we know from the beginning that Harry is all alone in the world and then people start dying and we know that there is never going to be an end to it. The end is really worth it, though.

when fred died like i said- fred is my hubby

They say i'm too emotional.
