Hi, all. I'm a new member to the group. I love the Gilmore Girls, but I am only halfway through Season 2 on DVD. I look forward to being a part of this group and what you all are reading. I recently purchased The Time Traveler's Wife so I will likely read that one after I finish The Meaning of Night: A Confession. Happy Reading!

Hello! I am a new member as well. I am a huge fan of the Gilmore Girls more so prior to Amy Sherman Palladino's departure. I still have the final season to watch though. I read the Time Traveler's Wife a couple of years ago and fell in love with it! I had an opportunity to hear Audrey Niffeneger speak over the summer about her drawings and my well worn copy of the Time Traveler's Wife now bears her signature.
Sera - Welcome! You'll probably get spoiled a lot here... we're all talking about things that happen later on in the Gilmore universe. So just be careful if you don't want to be spoiled.Carly - Welcome, too! That's great that you got to hear her speak.

That's great that you were able to meet the author and get her to sign her book. Ok, I'm sold - it's my next book to read. I'm also looking forward to getting to know the members of this group.

Hi! I'm a new member, too! I was so excited to find this group because I've actually been trying to keep a "Rory's Book List" since the first season of GG! So you guys pick a different book mentioned on the show to read each month, is that it? How do we know when a new book is chosen and new discussions are up? (I'm new to Good Reads groups in General.) I'm currently reading Hermoine Lee's biography of Edith Wharton, but hope to join you in December! Thanks!
Andrea, last month each person posted the ten books from the club's list that they'd like to read, in ranking order. Then one of our moderators tallies the votes, and the winning book is chosen for that month. We've been trying to pair a contemporary work with a classic, and if one is long then we pick a shorter one to pair it with. This month we chose The Time Traveler's Wife and The Time Machine. Last month it was Wicked and Jeckyll & Hyde.
Welcome! This is a very fun group and I am definitely widening my reading horizons and having fun. I joined just last month and have already started reading things I never would have picked up otherwise. Welcome again to a great group!
Hi, I'm Amber and I'm a new member too. I LOVE GG (except the last season) and look forward to this club. I have to say that I've been out of the book scene for awhile and am looking forward to getting back into the grove and what better way to do it than with Rory and the whole GG world! Fabulous!

Hi, everybody:I've been following some of your threads for a while, just seeing what my friend, Sarah, is chatting about. It feels like I could fit in fairly well with this group, except for one thing...I've never seen a single episode of Gilmore Girls! I imagine it is a show I'd really like, but my typical schedule doesn't really allow me to watch much of anything on TV. Perhaps I should add a season to my netflix list? I've read and enjoyed a number of the books you all are suggesting and reading, so maybe I can "pass" as a Gilmore Girls fan.
DEFINITELY add it to your Netflix! Also, ABC family runs the show in syndication and they're on the first season right now. Weekdays at 11 AM or 5 PM I believe.

Robbie, I'm on Season 2, Disc 6, and I love it. I started watching the show in August after I had read so many great reviews about it. It's strange, but every time I see it, it just lifts my spirits and makes me feel incredibly optimistic. When my mom was visiting one weekend, we watched a disc from Season 1 together, and she loved it, too - she kept saying "I want to live in Star's Hollow". Just avoid the spoilers in this group while watching :)
