Self Challenge. Jay-me's no pressure challenge 2012
1. OK so on my kindle I have quite a long TBR list - it is divided into GR and non-GR authors.2. I have looked at the GR authors TBR and taken out those that I have already included in this year's challenge.
3. I have reduced the list further by taking out those that I read last year (books not authors. I know what I mean)
4. I reduced it further by taking out some collections of short stories.
5. Then I deleted every second one on the list and finally ended with 5 books to choose from. Which considering that I have somehow amassed 91 books in my Goodreads Authors TBR collection is frankly amazing.
So I am left with
I am now tired and hungry so am going to raid the fridge and freezer to find something to burn for tea. After that I might just settle down to watch a DVD (I have Patti's recommendation - Being Human to watch)
Or I might root out one of my old paperbacks for a bit of comfort reading
I've heard boomerang and Death in a Scarlet Gown are good but I've not read them myself, I've not read any of those books
I have read Boomerang and really enjoyed it. Its funny, but you have to be patient because it takes a while before all the strands of the story come together.
Yes,well done Janet! The only one of those I have read is Long Time Dead.I really enjoyed it,if that's any help.

Now I have a dilemma.
Do I continue and read the book I had planned to read next..........
........or do I one-click the next book by Andrew Barrett
well silly me - I can't download until I get home anyway, so I'll go back to the original list
Update for the weekend, plus the reading whilst hanging around in hospital for scans, scan results etc.136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141

I haven't read it yet!! It's on my TBR along with quite a few more books.
I need to update this challenge - I will add the latest books I've read tonight.
I started to write a blog post about what sort of books I've been reading and why, & it ended up going round the houses and rambling down to the library and back a few times and never got where I intended.
And I've increased this challenge to 200 books this year.
This looks like a big update - but it isn't really. My last update was nearly two weeks ago so the fact that I am adding books 153 to 166 is no big deal. In a bit of a push to clear my TBR I've read second and third books in series, some books that have been on my kindle for a while and looked at and deleted a few that I probably won't read. I have some new ones that I want to read but I have left them for the moment.
There is a lot of light reading on my list - not everyone's cup of coffee but I enjoy being able to escape from real life occasionally - & since I'm probably not going to get a holiday for a while my reading is the only relaxation.
So here they are
& my sister is here for the weekend, so I may not get to read properly until tonight. (In case anyone hadn't realised I'm another of the UKAKF insomniacs)
This update contains more easy reading and short stories.
170, 171, 172, 173, 174, 175, 176, 177, and 178
Wow - you are a quick reader!!

A month since the last update - I think I have slowed down a bit, but I have also been busy making Christmas decorations and bracelets, & attending 18th birthday parties for nieces, & going for a craft weekend. I've also re-read some books in the last month (which don't count in my challenge)So I am adding books 241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, and 255

Sarah has read more than I have
I've slowed down a bit as well Janet,5 less books last month.Life as well as crafting got in my way.I would have liked to have managed 365 but no way will I reach that now.
Another month, another big update and only three days left to the end of the challenge. My original target was 120 - I reached that in July. Books 256 to 298
Wow, Janet! You are a reading machine!

So here we are on the last day of the year, & the last day for this challenge. The total stands at 305 books read this year. (there may be more added if I read & finish another before midnight!!) I will update this post by adding the last books. & here they are
I'm not going to do a challenge for next year (because I can't think of one to do)- just read and update on the Goodreads challenge I think.

and now I have only one more to reach my original target I am going to increase the target by the number of short stories that I have read so far this year.
So my new target is
153158I still think book number 120 should be the 50th different "our author" so I am going to study the TBR list on my kindle and try to decide which one.
